It had been six months since sg1 had seen torah, she had left when a messenger came to find her saying she was needed back in suriri. They all missed her; she had taught them all so much in the four months they had known her.
They were sitting in the commissary when they heard the klaxon sound unauthorized off world activation for the second time today the first time had been vala who had come to warn them off the ori invasion fleet heading towards earth, now on hearing this second alert they all jumped up and ran down to the gate room just in time to see torah walk though the gate
Torah they all exclaimed hi guys long time no see before you all rush to hug me don't she said this as she backed back up the ramp what's up torah Daniel said looking concerned as he and torah had become especially close, little sore on my back might need to see dr lam, you want some company Daniel asked no I'll be fine torah said as she started to walk off I'll see you guys later to catch up and maybe you can tell me who she is.
Dr Lam thought her heart would break when she saw torahs back it was cut and badly bruised, torah was trying to make out it didn't hurt but she could see the pain written upon torahs face as she washed and dressed it as gently as she could. This done she gave the rest of torah the once over but apart from the back they was no other apparent injuries ok so she looked thinner then she should and very tired but these things would sort themselves out in time ok you're free to go torah jumped off the trolley thanks doc she threw over her shoulder as she headed out the door to find her friends.
she found them sitting in the commissary with the strange women looking very bored doc let you out then jack said as he jumped up to get her a chair yeah I'm fine just very hungry she turned to vala and who might you be vala looked hurt you mean Daniel never mentioned me oh well I'm vala mal Doran and who are you torah smiled at her I'm torah so guys introductions done what's new she could see something was bothering her friends they all looked tired and worried, jack was the first to speak it seems we have pissed off someone else torah looked shocked I thought most of the system lords had gone Daniel fidgeted in his seat it's not a goa'uld it's the ori torah visibly shrunk back in her chair I knew this day was coming Daniel have you ever heard of the heart of Atlantis Daniel looked at her yeah it's supposed to be a very powerful weapon torah just smiled at him the heart isn't a it the heart is a who me in fact jack was worried as Daniel was looking very uncomfortable but the texts say it will shine but once torah just smiled again I know, the chair in Atlantis draws its power from me it has been this way for thousands of years and will continue to be this way after me now jack knew why Daniel looked as he did you mean you die, yes jack I die , bad plan jack retorted
Later after her friends had left to go about their own work torah sat by herself thinking yes jack I agree bad plan.
the next morning torah lay in bed when someone knocked on her door come in she called out Daniel walked in come on get up jack says we going fishing before the ori get here torah just groaned as Daniel threw her clothes at her I don't do maggots Daniel burst out laughing that's ok you don't need them jacks pond has no fish torah looked puzzled how does that one work then, you can ask him when you see him come on. Daniel threw over his shoulder as he walked out leaving torah to get dressed.
Torah was taken aback when she saw jacks cabin it was beautiful and she and vala still couldn't work out how you fish without the fish both teal'c and Sam had tried to explain it to them but they quite frankly didn't see the point of it if you weren't actually going to catch anything at the end of it so she and vala had set up their sleeping bags in front of jacks fire and lay there dozing quite happily listening to their friends talking. Daniel burst in a few hours later shivering and wet both torah and vala burst into laughter and the more Daniel protested it wasn't funny the more they laughed looks like those two are getting along well jack said looking over Daniels shoulder yeah a little to well hey you two when you've finished a little help would be nice torah looked up indigo eyes shining Daniel I stopped undressing boys when I was five I'm not taking it up again just yet Daniel blushed I didn't mean like that I meant with my coat it's so wet I can't get it off torah looked at him oh sure that's how it always starts very well I'll help with your coat and that's it behind torah vala sat there laughing
Over the evening meal torah was listening to her friends adventures over the last six months while she had been home how they had defeated the goa'uld an how they had come across the ori as she lay listening to them she felt warm and safe as least for the moment she was home. She fell asleep with that thought and when Daniel looked at her an hour later he was surprised to see her smiling.
Over the next two days torah got to know her friends all over again, and her and vala became firm friends and loved to tease Daniel about anything and everything, but like all good things it had to end and the next day they were recalled to the sgc.
Sitting in the briefing room torah sat listening to how the ori had been spotted nearing earths solar systems and would be here in the day then I must get to Antarctica I must get there before the ori arrive don't look at me like that Daniel this is the way it must be Daniel looked torah I know I just wish we had another way you've only just got back Daniel was interrupted by general videne dr Jackson we all wish there was another way but there isn't torah sg1 a plane leaves to take you to Antarctica in three hours you have until then to find me another way you may leave.
Torah spent the next few hours writing a letter to her friends,
Hi guys, If the worst comes to the worst and I don't make it I wanted to tell you all some things about me my life and life in general, first of all I want to thank you for letting me be part of your lives it has and always will be a privilege knowing you. Now about me I have never talked much about my live before here but I think you deserve to know my full name tanaya torah kellen I left suriri when I was 15 due to the fact that my family were killed couldn't bear to be there any more so I travelled round your world keeping my self isolated I was convinced I was cursed and didn't deserve to have anyone till I met you guys you changed me I relilised every body needs someone now this is my advice to you all I know each and everyone of you have lost people you love and care about but don't let that stop you from loving someone it's a lonely life out there. Jack it has been an honour to know you Sam you remind me of a old friend trust your heart it will lead you true Teal'c you remind me of my brother thanks for never judging me And Daniel I wish it didn't have to end like this I have known for a while that I have feelings for you its funny isn't how we wait till it's too late Vala you are you never change
Bye maybe see you
Torah folded it and put it in an envelope and left it on her dresser as she walked out the door.
The journey to the outpost was a silent one no one felt like talking, they all knew what was coming, as torah entered the outpost she shivered when she saw the chair suddenly she felt a arm around her waist she looked to her side to see Daniel standing there lets get this done shall we I'm in the mood for kicking some ori arse torah said shakily as she sat in the chair. Radar had placed the ori fleet approaching faster then expected. As torah sat back in the chair it lit up in a way it never had before, torah began depressing the gel pads with her fingers as sg1 stood watching images from the Prometheus, as the outpost weapon fired they saw the ori fleet being destroyed one ship at a time it was a spectacular sight no one saw torah weaken each time the weapon fired or the tears fall from her eyes as dreams never to be realised flashed before her eyes, as the last ori ship was destroyed torah took a deep breath and slumped in the chair as sg1 let out a loud cheer torah we did it their gone the ori are no more Daniel shouted as sg1 turned to find torah arms hanging limply from the chair torah no please don't be dead not now Daniel shouted as jack checked for a pulse Daniel wait there a pulse it's weak but she's alive.
Four days later as torah lay in the infirmary Daniel found the letter she had written, as he read it he felt his heart melt and swell with pride, dropping the letter he ran to the infirmary to find torah sitting up in bed hair loose eating jello she looked up at him a puzzled looked crossed her face as he walked over to her put the bowl down and kissed her on the lips long and deep as the rest of sg1 watched smiling as he broke it off and stood there waiting, torah face broke into a wide grin and pulled him back into her they were both home and loved and they belonged.
