Doctor Daniel Jackson grinned as he drove to the mountain, the passenger rabbiting a mile a minute, she had been like that since she woke up, not to mention him as well. He looked at her slightly, not taking his eyes off the road "Cass" he started before the young girl looked at him "yeah dad" Cassandra Jackson stated before she looked at her father "calm down, you want to drive us off the road" Daniel warned, not a harsh tone, he could never muster one when he was speaking to her. And she knew it, but she knew enough to listen to him "and miss the Zoo, no way, she said yes, right, she's isn't going to back out, right dad" Cassandra asked as Daniel grinned "what's with all the hype, your never this worried about the zoo and wither or not Sam's coming" Daniel asked as he saw the guard point up ahead "it's just I have to make sure the plan goe-" she stopped and glanced at her father who was eyeing her suspiciously "what plan" Daniel asked as Cassandra shifted in her seat "no plan, look dad, she's waiting" Cassandra exclaimed before she hung out of the window and started waving, Daniel sighed and grabbed his daughter's shirt and pulled her back "wait until I stop the car" he said firmly, Cassandra pouted but couldn't hold it, she was beaming once passed the guards. Daniel had a smile but it was different, major Sam Carter was standing in the car lot, one hand shielding her eyes and the other hand resting on her hips, Daniel could see Sam was smiling, a motherly one for Cassandra and another for him. Daniel glanced at his daughter, but she didn't pick up on the smile, which was good, because she would tease him throughout the day "maybe we could go see jack and Teal'c" Cassandra stated before Daniel parked the car next to Sam who lent in through Daniel's window, her hair freshly washed, her skin creamy and smelling of roses, Daniel shifted his gaze to his daughter who was beaming at Sam "hey, dad, can I go see jack and Teal'c, Sam you can sit in my place" Cassandra stated before she climbed out before anyone could say anything, Daniel shook his head before he looked at Sam "she's acting weird" Daniel declared as Sam nodded before she gazed into his eyes "so the zoo sounds" "boring, I know, but with what we do, I want to spend as much time as I can with her" Daniel stated as Sam smiled at him, he blushed slightly before Sam cleared her throat "I think I can survive it, seeing as your going to be there" Sam stated as Daniel smiled lopsided at her "really" Daniel asked, this time Sam blushing "yeah" she said before she reached through the window and ruffled his hair "you should let it grow again" Sam stated as Daniel grinned "and here I am thinking that you like me for my mind, and all your after is my looks" Daniel joked before Sam blushed deeply and looked down "you getting in or will you just run on the roof" Daniel asked before Sam squatted him and walked around the car, Daniel couldn't help watch her as she moved, he smiled at her when she got in and lent across and gave her big kiss on her cheek "what was that for" Sam asked as she looked at him as he pulled back "for keeping me sane today, I love my daughter but there's only so much I can stand of that darn zoo" Daniel stated as Sam laughed.
Jack O'Neill smiled when he, Teal'c and Cassandra reached Daniel's car "the plans all set" Jack asked as Cassandra nodded "yep, I tell you everything that happens" Cassandra stated before they stopped at the car "ok everyone bound for the zoo hop in" Daniel declared before Cassandra grabbed the back door and open before she jumped in, Jack stepped forward and slammed the door shut and winked at her before he looked at Daniel and Sam "have fun" Jack stated before he stepped back and smiled slyly at them. Daniel him a weary look before he shook it off and waved good bye before he started the car up.
Sam had to smile as Cassandra dragged her father around the zoo, when they first found Cassandra Sam had taken a liking to her, but it was Daniel who scooped her up in his arms and carried him through the stargate. Cassandra didn't let go of him once on base. Always slipping out of her quarters and rushing to his and sleeping under his watch. She would get edgy when Daniel left the room and only let Daniel comfort her. That's when Sam realised how great a father Daniel would be. Sam was the one who told Daniel to adopt Cassandra. And the weird thing about that was that she wished the general would say no, because Daniel didn't have a wife. Meaning that he would have to get one quick. Well he did have one at the time, but not anymore. Sam so wanted to be apart of the bond Daniel and Cassandra had made and the unique family they made. Sam had slept over once or twice when she had helped Cassandra and she loved to watch the pair of them making breakfast, joking, laughing, teasing Sam. Sam had also wanted to climb into bed with Daniel, after they tucked Cassandra in. when he said goodnight to her, she felt how right it would be for him to kiss her and guide her to his room. but it never happened. Cassandra was also a good spy and saboteur, when Daniel had a date and brought her back to the house. Cassandra would bound down stairs claiming to have a report she desperately needed help on. Daniel would be so engross with his daughter that the dates would make excuses and leave. Sam lifted amused eye brow when she thought how many times Cassandra had gone a bed early just to leave Sam and Daniel alone. Maybe the girl picked up on how Sam felt for her father. She hoped she did, anyone who could help Sam with Daniel would be Cassandra "can I dad, twenty minutes, you and Sam could go to the duck pond and wait for me" Sam picked up on the last part of the conversation, Cassandra held Daniel's hand while Daniel was eyeing his daughter with a quizzical look "Cassandra" he started but lost that train of thought and looked at Sam "what you think" he asked as Cassandra turned her pleading eyes on Sam, who could do nothing but break and smile at the girl "you two can be alone to talk about my presents" Cassandra stated before Sam laughed and looked at Daniel, who was looking at her with mixed emotions. One Sam knew was a pleading one, but the other two were a mix between hope and hesitation, he looked away back to his daughter when he knew Sam was reading him like a book "what two old people, on a bench holding hands and kissing" Daniel asked making kissing sounds which made both women laugh, Cassandra mocked a disgusted look but it slowly slipped away into hopefulness, then back to her pleading "my birthday is sooo close" Cassandra drawled before Daniel laughed "ok twenty minutes" Daniel crumpled before his daughter gave him one of her biggest grin, one of which Sam knew Jack had taught her and rushed off to the reptile house, Daniel watched her go before he turned back to Sam and smiled at her before extending his arm "shall we" he asked before Sam linked her arm around his and walked with over to a bench which she could only assume was were he had been forced to sit on many occasions.
Daniel sat down and was surprised to see how close sat next to him. In the back of his mind he knew Cassandra was up to something but couldn't put his finger on it. So Daniel opted not to think but to take in the feeling of Sam next to him, she still had her arm around his, but then snuggled her head against his shoulder and wrapped both arms around his, she sighed before she looked up and saw Daniel just smiling, before he lent his head against hers. He then open his eyes when Sam drew one hand away and capture his right hand and looked closely at the ring on it. It was a single gold band, she smiled at the memories. SG-1, Janet, General Hammond and Cassandra had chipped in and got him it, in the middle was Daniel's birth stone, which Cassandra pain staking found out. Sam smiled at that thought, she never knew a closer father and daughter. It made Sam slightly jealous at how, her and her father never had that. And he was her biological. But she knew why. Her father never watched his parents die, he was never left alone while his parents work consume all of their time. He was never moved from foster home, to foster home. Sometimes with abusive parents. He never really understood what it was like to want something so badly and have it snatched away from him every chance someone got. Sam closed her eyes to the tears at the memory of watching Daniel holding Cassandra close when they were forced from her room to the fall out shelter. Both were crying while the bomb in Cassandra's chest ticked down to count down. That was another thing she had to add to the list of the things she loved about Daniel. He wouldn't leave Cassandra's side. Even when jack threaten him with choice words. Even when Cassandra told him she didn't love, she didn't want him as a father. He wouldn't leave. Sam knew that hurt like hell, but he still didn't leave. Cassandra reassured him she did want him as father, but she wanted him to live. Sam had figure out what had to be done at the last moment, both were grateful. Sam tightened her grip on Daniel at the painful thought when there was a slight chance that neither him nor Cassandra would make it. That's when she that she wanted the Jackson's as her family, Cassandra as a daughter and Daniel as her husband. The last bit fell in place and she found her self so in love with him that it hurt. Cassandra had a foster mother, she was somewhere out there, host to a Goa'uld. Sam remembered when Cassandra left her father after she found out that her foster mother was dead. Sam had cried when she over heard Cassandra's and Teal'c's conversation.
"Teal'c what you did" Cassandra started but bit her lower lip as she watched her father sleep, then looked at Teal'c "I' am fully sorry about my action towards Daniel Jackson's wife, but I had to take those actions to save his life" Teal'c stated in one his tones that nobody could figure out "but I would kill Sha're again if I was in the position again. Daniel Jackson life is dear and valued to everyone in SGC, including myself" Teal'c told her, his slight downwards pull of his lips gave away his feelings before Cassandra smiled gently at him before she slipped off her fathers bed and hugged the huge Jaffa "was the right move, my father knows what you did was only in his best interest and if you could of, you would of found another way" Cassandra stated before Teal'c returned her embrace before he whispered "thank you Cassandra Jackson" Teal'c stated before he let go and nodded to her before he walked out.
Sam opened her eyes and stared hard at the pond "what you thinking" Daniel asked in a cosy voice and Sam smiled brightly "how much Cassandra adores you, and you her" Sam stated, biting back the finally bit she wanted to add. 'and how I love you both' Sam thought before Daniel smiled against Sam and removed his arm from hers and wrapped it around her "you too" he stated before Sam stiffened. 'Did he just say' Sam asked before she noticed that Daniel had also stiffen "you know how much Cassandra adores you, when she's not talking about school, or jack and Teal'c, she's talking a mile a minute about you and how much she wants to be like you" Daniel stated as Sam nodded, knowing what he said was right. Not what she wouldn't to hear but it was good enough.
Daniel so wanted to tell Sam that he adored her too. Ok maybe not like Cassandra did, but in his own way. Like when he was in Machello's body and Sam sat by his side as did Cassandra and how she wrapped her arms around Cassandra after Jolinar. And how she comforted him when Sha're had died. He loved those things about her, but not just that, how she smelt, how she looked and how she challenged him with her mind. He sometimes thought and asked him self, why the hell he never told her, what he felt. He always made excuses to himself, first it was jack, then Martouf, and there was Jonas. There was always someone in the way, at one point he even used Sha're. But now even she was gone. He used so many excuses that now all he could do was plain lie to her. He didn't want to ruin the friendship they had by declaring that he was in love with her. It didn't help that she was warm against him and all he wanted to do was tell her. For the first time he wanted Cassandra to interrupt them, just like she seem to do when he had a date. But he glanced and saw she was no were near "how long has she been in there" Daniel asked not shifting from his position "'bout fifteen minutes" Sam mumbled before she rubbed her head against his shoulder, getting comfortable.
Cassandra was almost jumping up and down when she saw her father and Sam "hey kid" Jack hissed before him and Teal'c who was wearing his famous fishing hats strolled over to her "what's happening" jack asked trying to act inconspicuous, Teal'c raised an eyebrow before he lent side wards and watched Sam and Daniel "it seems our plan is working very well O'Neill" Teal'c before Jack cursed and pulled Teal'c back "Teal'c for crying out loud, you were trained in combat act with a little more stealth and don't call me by my name, call me by code" Jack ordered before Teal'c straighten and looked ahead with a stern face "I will not" he stated firmly before Cassandra giggled "what is the code names" Cassandra asked before Jack grinned "I'm big bird, his little worm" Jack told her with a smirk and rock on his heels, Teal'c grained his teeth before he looked again "it seems they are unaware of our actions" Teal'c stated with a smile as he slowly pulled back as Jack was cursing at how unsteathly Teal'c was being "this is going to work" Cassandra assured them "dad spent an hour getting ready" Cassandra stated before Jack grinned "good, here's the radio, call for back up if anything goes wrong" Jack stated before he handed her a radio "the plan is flawless O'Neill, no errors will occur" Teal'c stated before Jack shot him a look before Cassandra darted away. Knowing that the Jaffa was going to be hit.
Sam grinned when Cassandra rushed over to them and flopped down beside Sam and let out a puff of air "that was so cool" Cassandra stated before she lent against Sam and held her close like Sam was doing to Daniel, Sam looked at Daniel who was just smiling, Sam grinned back at him before she wrapped a arm around Cassandra and held her close, Sam closed her eyes as she felt Daniel stroke his daughters hair then cup the back of Sam's neck, she felt a shiver run through her and hoped it was unnoticeable. Cassandra didn't notice it but Daniel sure did, because his smile got a lot bigger "so it was cool was it" Daniel asked, his chest feeling warm and right against Sam's back "yep" Cassandra stated before she looked around, it was getting darker, part two in phase now. Cassandra took her cue and faked the biggest yawns in her life. It didn't go unnoticed by the adults who looked at her "tired sweetheart" Daniel asked as Cassandra nodded as Sam smoothed her hair as Daniel stared at her. Not failing to notice how right it looked to see Cassandra falling asleep in her arms. Daniel had to let the thought at how right the picture would be if they were all curled up at home as one big family, but he got rid of it as he stood and smiled at the two women "come on let's get to the gift shop and go right home" Daniel stated as Cassandra nodded sleepy as she allowed her self to be pulled up "Sam your still having dinner with us, right" Cassandra asked as Sam stood and took the girls other hand "yes, sweetheart, I am" Sam stated before she looked at Daniel, who was smiling warmly at her "come on" he urged before he dragged them towards the gift shop.
Daniel smiled at the gently dusk that had descended on the world when he stopped outside his and Cassandra's house and climbed out just as Sam did. Sam hissed to him before she pointed to Cassandra who was asleep in the back. Daniel grinned at Sam before he threw his keys over to her "let us in" he stated before he climbed into the back and grabbed his daughter. Sam smiled and rushed to the front door and opened it, she fought with Max as she made her way in and held the door open for Daniel and Cassandra. Daniel had monition for Sam to follow him as he took Cassandra to bed. Sam smiled at the girls room, it was littered with books stuffed teddies, pictures of SG-1, her and her father, her and jack, her and Teal'c. Sam smile at the one Cassandra kept by her bed, it was off her, Cassandra and Daniel. All arms wrapped around each other. Sam was startled at how contempt Daniel looked, holding Cassandra's small form in one arm and under his wrapped arm was her. Sam walked over to the other side of Cassandra's bed and kissed the girls head when Daniel laid her under the covers, he kissed her also, before putting her shoes in the closet and sighing as he watched his daughter in slumber, he gaze drifted to Sam and he smiled even more. Sam blushed and looked back at Cassandra before he walked over to Daniel "she's beautiful" Sam whispered, not wanting to wake Cassandra "just like you" Daniel muttered before he took Sam's hand and led her out of the room. Cassandra heard the door shut before she jumped up and grabbed her bag and pulled the radio out "Jack, Jack, their alone, get ready for next stage" Cassandra stated as she waited "confirmed" Jack stated before Cassandra grinned before she settled back in her bed. Daniel sighed and he slumped next to Sam, who had her legs curled up beneath and was turned side wards "I hate the zoo" Daniel stated as he lent his head back against the sofa and closed his eyes "oh, I don't know, it wasn't a total lost" Sam declared before Daniel smiled "yeah, your right" he stated before he reached out and took hold of her hand "thanks, Sam, she really does love when your there" Daniel stated as Sam smiled at him gently "so do I" Daniel stated as Sam stared at him. Daniel bit his lower lip before he opened his eyes and looked at Sam, who was smiling at him. For a second he thought that Sam already knew how he felt. He sat up and lent towards her. Sam's breath caught in her throat as Daniel lent towards. She wanted him so badly and it seemed that all the waiting and hurting was about to be over. But unfortunately for her the lights went out and Daniel cursed. Lightly, Sam might add because what she was thinking was worser then Daniel's, jack's and Teal'c's curse words all put tougher. She felt him let go of her hand and get off the sofa. Sam felt herself get of the sofa and tried to stay with Daniel, who was heading for his desk. Sam stopped and looked out the window, she could have sworn she saw Teal'c. it must have been her imagination. Sam went to follow Daniel, but the lights came back on and she found her self face to face, extremely close to Daniel, who was holding a flashlight up "what the hell was that" he asked as he looked around before looking at Sam, he lost his train of thought as he stared in to her eyes "Daniel" Sam asked as she pressed her self against him slightly "is that the flashlight, or are you just happy to see me" Sam asked as Daniel went a deep crimson "um...I'm....um... kinda hoping it's the flashlight" Daniel stuttered before Sam grinned "I'm not" she stated before Daniel went wide eye. Sam let out a frustrated sigh before she grabbed the sides of his neck and kissed him. She firmly kissed him before she let go and looked at him, Daniel was slightly stunned but the fogginess cleared and he beamed back at Sam "well your wish came true" Daniel stated before he threw the flashlight on the sofa and cupped Sam's face and kissed her lightly, then deepen it, his hands sliding down her neck, to her shoulders then to her hands, she clasped them and pulled him further to her. Which was impossible. But wasn't that what SG-1 all about, beating the impossible. Sam entwined their fingers when Daniel let her tongue in. she shuddered when Daniel let go of her hands and let them slip around her back and press against her back, pushing her on to him, a small smile curled at his lips and Sam smiled right back as her arms wrapped around his neck and she tighten her grip on him. She was very pleased at how happy he was. Daniel was the first one to pull back, he smiled at Sam with a boyish grin before he lent forward and kissed her neck. Sam did the same to him before he stopped and mumbled in her ear "my bed is bigger and comfortable then the spare bed" Sam grinned before she felt Daniel's arms grip her then one go behind her legs as he scooped her off the ground, she nuzzled his neck as he walked to his bedroom.
Cassandra bounded down the stairs, followed by Max. like most nights when she had stayed up well past her bed time and her father had put her to bed. She got up and changed into her pyjamas. Max was nipping at her heel as she skidded to a stop in the kitchen, ready to welcome the sight of Sam sitting in the same clothes she wore last night and her father grinning like a little boy. But no such sight welcomed her. Just her father standing at the cooker, making her breakfast. It was Saturday, which meant that he would cook her something fried before they went to the base "hey sweetheart" Daniel chirped over his shoulder as Cassandra scanned the front room "hey dad" she greeted back before she sighed and looked at him "did Sam go home last night" Cassandra asked biting her lower lip "no" Daniel gently told her not looking at her. "so she's in the guest room" Cassandra asked biting her lip again "nope, she went to shower" Daniel stated before he turned and looked at her "Cassandra I'm very disappointed in you" Daniel stated shaking his head before Cassandra looked at him "why" Cassandra asked already knowing the answer "I found the radio in your room. Cassandra what do you think you were playing at. Me and Sam figured out last night" Daniel stated before Cassandra looked down "sorry dad, but you and Sam would make a per-" Daniel stopped her with a wave of a hand "no more, now when Sam finishes with her shower, I want nothing said ok, she's embarrassed enough, I'll have a firm word with jack as well" Daniel stated before Cassandra looked at him "but dad, it was my idea, they-" she knew she had said too much when her father raised an eyebrow "they, let me guess Teal'c" Daniel stated before he stopped when Sam walked into the kitchen, she smiled at Cassandra and brushed the girls hair away from her face "hey sweetheart" Sam stated before she smiled at Daniel "thanks again, for last night Daniel" Sam stated as Daniel smiled at her "now come on, breakfast is getting cold" he stated before Cassandra walked around the cooking island and started grabbing the plates and walked over to the table. Sam and Daniel shot each other huge smiles as Cassandra had her back turned to them, Daniel pulled Sam over to the refrigerator and open the door, making sure Cassandra couldn't see them, he kissed her "morning" he greeted as Sam smiled, shivering on two accounts, one because of the breeze from the refrigerator and one because of Daniel's touch "morning" she drawled back before he kissed her again then grabbed the OJ and handed it to her before he closed the door and smiled at her, Sam hurried over to the table and placed it down as Cassandra went to get the glasses.
Jack had every right to look down with shame as Daniel and Sam told them off, Teal'c was just staring at them as thou he didn't do anything and Cassandra did like her god father and hanged her head "now, we're going to let slip your little plan, this time. But next time we may not be so forgiving" Daniel told them before jack looked at him "we're sorry, it's just, well Cassandra remembered the new year party on the base, when you two were leaning in for kiss and she broke it up. She wanted to make it up she asked for our help" Jack told them before Teal'c piped up "if you wish to be angry at anyone, then you must be angry at me, I was the one who suggested the plan" Teal'c stated before Daniel set his face again "well your all as guilty as each other, but like Daniel said we're going to let it pass" Sam stated before all three nodded "it was a good plan, a very good plan, wouldn't you say so Sam" Daniel asked as he looked at Sam who nodded. Jack narrowed his eyes at the pair "a very good one" Sam stated before the penny dropped for jack who just stared wide eyed at the pair "you gits" was all he could muster before Daniel and Sam beamed at him "we never really said the plan didn't work, all we said was that we were disappointed in you, for going behind our backs" Sam stated before Jack laughed "but when I asked if Sam stayed you said-" "I never said that Sam stayed in the spare bed, any way this is not for your ears, missy" Daniel stated before he looked at Sam's hand and clasped in his own before looking at the stunned three and grinned "you really should be thanking us" jack stated before Daniel looked at him "don't push it jack" Daniel warned before Cassandra grinned "when the wedding" Janet asked from behind them, everyone looked at her "November 11th" Sam and Daniel stated before jack laughed "come on, we feel bad enough" jack stated before everyone looked at him then the grinning couple "jack November 11th" Daniel repeated before he looked at Sam with a huge smile then at Cassandra "is our wedding day" Daniel told his friend before Cassandra hugged both of them and grinned "can I be a bridesmaid" Cassandra asked as she pulled back and looked at Sam "of course you can" Sam stated before Cassandra beamed at her "thanks....mom" she stated before Daniel and Sam smiled at each other before Daniel grabbed his family "jack I'm almost afraid to ask, but will you be my best man" Daniel asked before Jack grinned "of course Danny" Jack said with an evil grin.
