A Fine Line
A thin spluttering line.
It is melting away to nothing,
as my fingers lace your silken hair,
thinking no wrong deed can feel as fine.
The letters are disappearing,
words they once formed non existent
I have disavowed all those lines tonight,
as my lips place a chaste kiss upon your head,
I accept you, my deathless light.
So we lie still, our ears straining to hear-
if the earth move beneath us,
the sky fall upon us.
As we fear,
we have crossed that fine line.
Yet nothing happens.
The night is as painfully beautiful and silent as before.
But I am no more.
For only 'we' are here.
