Saving the World
Hero is what they called me.
A pat on the shoulder,
A smile sent my way.
"Thanks for saving the world."
Yet in your eyes I was me.
Not a title, not a shell,
But a man.
A sad and pathetic man.
I've achieved beyond any expectations.
I never though I'd go this far.
But when I did, they said to me;
"Thanks for saving the world."
Again...
Then one day, some strange unforgettable day, you said, "I need you."
Purpose, power and pridethe
trio played their heartfelt song.
And I saved your world
I became a hero. Your hero.
