Daniel awoke to bright sunlight streaming over his face. Blinking sleepily, he instinctively turned to look at the clock on his bedside table-only to find there was no clock.

There wasn't even a table.

The revelation startled him-as did the sudden feel of a warm, small body shifting to cuddle closer to his side. A look down showed a familiar fan of reddish brown hair spread across his chest and he could feel the even breathing where her face was buried in the crook of his neck. Their bodies were intimately entwined and obviously, without a stitch of clothing on.

The initial surprise suddenly melted into something resembling satisfaction as he allowed himself to remember how they'd gotten this way.

Last Night

"You do realize that Cassie is never going to let you live this down, don't you Space Monkey?"

Daniel grimaced at Jack's comment, earning laughter from the others in the room, including the girl in question.

"Way to state the obvious, Jack." It wasn't his best reply, but it would have to do for the moment. He had a few more pressing things on his mind tonight. Like the beautiful woman sitting in the chair next to him, laughing tipsily at something her daughter and best friend were saying.

"I just can't believe you guys have never seen "Atlantis: The Lost City." I mean, come on, it's Daniel's life, albeit "Disneyized," although I still think you should sue, Daniel."

Cassie's abrupt topic change made even Jack laugh, as Daniel simply remained quiet, more amused at watching Cassie and Teal'c comment on scenes from the movie they'd just watched. Teal'c's comments were always amusing and teamed with Cassie's strange sense of humor, the two were a comedy show unto themselves.

And yes, now that he thought about it, the movie was a little too close for comfort to his life. But then again, at least Milo got a happy ending-he found Atlantis and he got the girl.

If only Daniel Jackson could be so lucky.

Stealing another look up at Janet, he found himself wondering at how the light from the fire seemed to highlight the red in her hair that fell loosely around her beautiful face. He swallowed hard and quickly averted his eyes as he caught Jack staring at him in amusement, obviously ready to say something.

He shot his best friend a `don't-go-there' look, letting his raised eyebrow alert Jack that it was obvious that he and Sam were sitting closer than two `friends' should be on Janet's loveseat. The message was obviously understood, although Daniel shuddered inwardly at the look of evil glee that appeared on Jack's face. He knew payback would come later.

"Okay, now that I've opened up this can of worms, I think I hear Amanda's mom at the door, so I've gotta go."

Those in the room laughed at the young girl's eager expression as she headed for the door, where her best friend's mother waited. Cassie was spending the night at her friend's and had only stayed this long with them because she hadn't wanted to miss an SG-1 get together.

Daniel watched in amusement as Janet rose from her chair, noting she took a moment to steady herself. He grinned as he realized the few glasses of wine she'd had were obviously going to her head. Not that he wasn't feeling a bit daring having consumed several glasses of wine, two more than his usual.

Janet, for her part, only hoped that she didn't sound as tipsy as she felt. It wouldn't do to have Claire Sullivan think Cassie's mother was drunk. Not that she was, but she was feeling pretty good.

Taking a deep breath, clearing her head, she managed a smile and a steady walk towards the door where her daughter was talking eagerly with her best friend Amanda and Amanda's mother. She deliberately ignored the amused looks she was getting from her friends, although she was far from adverse to the looks Daniel had been giving her all night.

"Claire, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your picking up Cassie tonight."

"Not a problem. Amanda's been looking forward to this all week, and I'm glad to see it looks as if you're having a little fun." The words were followed by a small wink, and Janet had to force a blush from rising in her cheeks.

"Either way, thanks again. I'll pick Cass up tomorrow morning-"

"Why don't I just call you around noon or so," Cassie cut in, leaning over to give her mother a kiss on the cheek. "Just in case you might have a reason to sleep in."

Janet gave her daughter a frown as Cassie laughed and called her goodbyes to those in the living room. Leaning back in to hug Janet one more time, she couldn't resist offering one more parting thought.

"Just go with it mom. It's obvious you don't have to spend tonight alone if you don't want to."

"Cassandra Fraiser!" Janet's shocked statement of her full name had Cassie giggling again, before ducking out the door and heading for the waiting car. Janet watched her leave, trying to control the blush she knew was on her cheeks after her daughter's words. Not to mention the fact that she sincerely hoped they would prove prophetic. Gathering her wits as she closed the front door, she turned to find the entire room was watching her with various amused gazes.

"What?" The tipsiness was alive and well again as she navigated her way across the room and back to her armchair, smiling as Daniel handed her the now full glass of wine from where he was sitting on the floor, his back resting against her chair.

"So, what exactly did Cass say to bring that lovely shade of red to your cheeks, Doc?"

Janet shot Jack an evil look, taking a gulp of her wine and trying not to notice the intense interest she could read clearly on Daniel's face.

"That's on a need to know basis, Colonel," she said, stressing his title as Sam tried to hide her laughter.

"You wound me, she's like my daughter too and you don't think I need to know?"

Daniel couldn't help but laugh at Jack's reply, not to mention the fact that it brought the blush on Janet's cheeks to even greater prominence. There was nothing more beautiful, he thought, than to watch this woman try to reign in her temper. It was an added pleasure when that temper was aimed at Jack.

"That's negotiable." Janet knew she needed to steer the conversation away from its present course, although she would admit to curiously wondering what Daniel would think if she actually told them what Cassie had said.

/Probably go right over his head. Not that he's ever expressed more than a friendly interest in me./

"So, what's next?" Sam took pity on her friend, amused to note the way Janet was deliberately avoiding looking at Daniel. But the archaeologist, she noted, couldn't seem to keep his eyes off of Janet.

"Well, we could watch another movie-"

"I do believe CassandraFraiser mentioned that you have the most recent "Star Wars" movie. I would much like to see that."

Jack's groan drew smiles from the others gathered around the room.

"Come on T, you know me and Sci Fi-"

"That I do, O'Neill. But you did make a favorable remark on "Star Wars" when we observed it a few months ago at your cabin."

Sam raised her eyebrows at Jack's annoyed, slightly sheepish look, while Janet didn't even try to contain her chortle of laughter. But it was Daniel who actually spoke.

"Jack O'Neill watched a science fiction movie? Am I in the right reality?" He couldn't help but grin at the irate look Jack shot him.

"If you're not careful there, Danny boy, you might just find yourself drop kicked into a different reality."

Janet chortled again, finishing off her glass of wine, ignoring the amused look Daniel sent her way. Suddenly, a brilliant idea hit.

"You know, there's a way we could make even Jack bear with a viewing of Ewan McGregor in all his Jedi goodness."

"Jedi goodness? Janet, is there something you'd like to tell us?"

Daniel couldn't help but feel a slight bit of irrational jealousy at the way her voice went dreamy when talking about the actor who played Obi-Wan Kenobi.

"Don't knock the power of the force, Daniel. Or the power of a bearded Ewan McGregor."

This time it was Jack's turn to look annoyed at Sam's dreamy expression as the two women exchanged glances and nods.

"I, for one, am interested in how to make viewing this movie, better, as you so called it DoctorFraiser."

Janet smiled, knowing it was the wine talking as she rose and walked over to the cherry wood cabinet sitting at one end of the living room. Opening the doors, she immediately found what she was looking for. Grabbing the tall bottle, she turned back to face her friends, noting Sam was smiling widely at her.

"Brilliant idea, Janet. One of the best you've had in a while. I'll get the glasses."

Jack and Daniel exchanged confused looks as Sam rose and headed into the kitchen while Janet returned to her seat and placed her burden on the table. Jack's expression was priceless as he registered what she'd retrieved.

"Whiskey? I didn't know you were a drinker, Doc. The things you learn about your health care providers."

Janet only smiled as Daniel gave her a slightly apprehensive look. Teal'c simply raised an eyebrow, and she suddenly frowned, realizing that this might not exactly be fun for Teal'c.

"Teal'c, I'm sorry, I forgot you don't drink. This might not be much fun for you-"

"Um, Janet, I for one would really like to know what you and Sam have planned." Daniel had a suspicion of what the two women were getting at, but he wanted confirmation.

"Drinking games, Daniel. And there's no better movie to drink to than "Attack of the Clones.""

Janet watched the expressions flit across his handsome face, glad to see the most prevalent one was fascination. She knew Daniel didn't drink much, having a very low tolerance, but the devil inside her tonight wanted to see what would happen if he actually allowed himself to let go and get drunk.

"I have heard of these drinking games, when the Tau'ri consume massive amounts of alcohol for the purpose of sport."

Jack cracked up at Teal'c's formal wording, noting Daniel too seemed amused, but was hiding it better.

"Again, way to sum it up, T. Although I wonder where you're getting all this knowledge."

The Jaffa simply looked at him with his usual stoic expression before replying. "I will not participate but it would be enlightening to watch the effects of such a game."

Daniel shuddered at Teal'c's words, trying not to think of what he might do or say if he actually managed to get down a few shots of whiskey. Then again, if Janet were right there with him, he might actually have the courage to act on the feelings he'd been harboring for her for the past few months.

"Teal'c, I brought some soda for you, and if you're going to be the sober one, I'll leave it to you to arrange a way to get us all home tonight."

Sam's words made Janet smile as her friend returned to the living room, carrying a tray with five shot glasses and a bottle of soda. "You're all welcome to crash here tonight, if you don't want to drive."

Daniel perked up, just barely hiding his pleasure at the thought of spending the night-even if it would probably be on the sofa.

"I believe the number of a `taxi' as you call them, is by your phone DoctorFraiser, and it should not be hard to call for one if the need arises."

"Oh the need will arise, T, especially if we're doing shots of whiskey." Jack kept his words light, but he could see the amused look in Sam's eyes. Part of him was jumping for joy at the thought of a drunk Sam, although a much larger part was already dreading the agony of not being able to act on what might be stirred up.

Still, he wasn't going to think like that at the moment. He was going to simply enjoy. And it might be just as much fun to watch the Doc and Daniel get plastered. At least then they might admit their feelings for each other.

"So, what are we drinking to, Janet, the usual?"

Daniel raised an eyebrow, exchanging a look with Jack. "You two do this often?"

Janet laughed as she looked at Sam, who simply smiled and shrugged. "Well, girl's nights tend to need a little spice and there's nothing like a little Jack Daniel and a dose of Ewan McGregor."

Janet cracked up as Sam's words registered. Noting the strange looks she was getting, she tried to speak as she wiped the tears of mirth from her cheeks. "Do you realize what you just said, Sam?"

Comprehension dawned a few moments later on her friend, and Sam's cheeks turned a brilliant red-although seconds later she was laughing right along with Janet.

The two men looked at each other in confusion.

"Care to let us in on the joke, ladies?" Jack desperately wanted to know what was so incendiary about what Sam had said, since nothing was jumping out at him. All she'd said was Ewan McGregor and a bottle of Jack Daniel-"

He choked on the sip of beer he'd taken as Sam's slip registered. Giving his 2IC a raised eyebrow, he decided to remain quiet for the moment. That slip of forgetting the "s" on the Jack Daniel's was something to mull over a little later, preferably with several shots of the liquor already under his belt.

Sam shot him a look, seeing his expression and wondering if he'd finally caught her slip. Part of her wanted him to, simply to gauge his reaction. Another part, however, that hadn't had enough to drink, hoped he would ignore it.

Daniel too was musing over Sam's words and a few seconds later, had reached the same conclusion Jack had. He fought a grin as he looked up at a laughing Janet. Gods she was beautiful when she laughed!

"Okay, I'm ready for an Ewan close-up, Janet. Shall we name the terms of tonight's Jedi goodness?"

Jack felt his annoyance at Sam's fascination with the actor abate as his Major settled down against his side, the wine she'd already consumed tonight making her feel free enough to bridge the space barrier they usually forced themselves to keep from each other.

Daniel, for his part, was enjoying the fact that Janet was not complaining as he leaned back against her legs. Her hand was only inches from the top of his head where it sat on the arm of the chair and if he leaned back-just slightly-he would be within stroking distance. Not that he expected her to be so bold, but after a few shots, anything was possible!

Janet too had noticed how close Daniel was sitting and was toying with the idea of allowing her hand to brush through the hair at the nape of his neck.

/Not yet, maybe after a few shots of whiskey./

Smiling, she put the thought on simmer as she laid out the rules.

"Okay, we do a shot every time you hear Anakin `whine' about something. And I do mean anything."

Sam almost choked on her laughter. "You're going to need about three bottles of whiskey if you want to make it through the first hour of the movie."

Janet frowned, suddenly realizing her friend had a point. Maybe it did need to be narrowed a bit, if only for the sake of the fact that she really didn't want anyone getting alcohol poisoning.

"Good point, how about then, we drink every time Obi-Wan mentions something about Jedi not being allowed to feel emotion."

Sam nodded, liking that challenge even more. "Much better, but still enough to get us thoroughly drunk."

Jack's eyebrows skyrocketed and he couldn't resist a comment. "Major, are you implying that you want to get us all, with the exception of T there, drunk? I'm shocked!"

Sam laughed as she allowed herself to lean against her CO, figuring she could blame it on the wine she'd already consumed. Not that Jack was complaining, mind you.

"Come on, we're all friends. And if we make a pact that whatever happens, whatever is said, it won't go beyond this room, what can it hurt?"

/Oh, Sam, more than you know./

Daniel sighed at the thought, although he had to admit, the possibilities were endless. If he blurted out something stupid in a state of intoxication, there was a chance no one would remember, everyone being drunk themselves.

"Now that the rules are established, shall I put the movie on?"

Janet nodded at Teal'c as she leaned over and filled four of the shot glasses with whiskey, proud that her hand remained steady throughout the process. Although she did almost drop the bottle when her arm brushed against Daniel's as she reached over him to pour. The tingle the touch sent down her spine was enough to make her shiver with a barely hidden delight.

Daniel swallowed hard as he felt the electricity spark between them at the brush of skin, knowing it was going to be a long night. If he were this aroused from a simple touch on the arm, he could only imagine what was to come. And to his surprise, he found himself more eager than scared.

Settling back against the chair, he was glad to note Teal'c had turned off the lights. Allowing himself a little leeway, he leaned back against Janet's legs again, pressing his head back against the armrest, just below her hand, wondering if she'd take his hopefully, subtle hint.

Janet felt her heart race as she noted Daniel's close proximity, and registered the fact that he had deliberately put himself in touching distance. Biting her lip, her eyes focused on the screen in front of her, she very slowly allowed her fingers to slip to the back of his neck, stroking lightly at the skin she found there, her movement hidden from the view of the others in the room by the position of Daniel's body.

Daniel closed his eyes, forcing his mind to focus on the movie unfolding in front of him, instead of the desire flooding him at the soft touch of her fingers against his neck. However, he was unable to get the picture of what a thoroughly ravished Janet might look like out of his mind. Obviously, tonight was going to be harder than he'd thought.

"There's the first one! Drink up!"

Janet jumped at Sam's voice, so immersed in the feel of Daniel's skin against hers that she'd been paying no attention to the action on the screen in front of her. Glad the darkness hid her blush, she reached for her glass with her free hand, pleased to note Daniel did not move away from where her fingers continued their light massage of his neck.

"Cheers!"

Jack gulped down the fiery liquid, managing not to choke, although he had to hold back his amusement as Sam did choke, coughing hard before setting her glass on the table.

"Strong stuff, better than the last time we did this, Janet."

Janet, for her part, was still feeling the liquor burning down her throat, When she could focus long enough to register her friend's words, she smiled. The smile widened as she noted Daniel's shot glass was empty as well, and his eyes were screwed shut as if in pain.

"A special brand that a friend from Toronto sent me for my birthday last year. Nick and Nat have it made specially for me."

Daniel finally found his voice through the haze that penetrated his vision. "And you broke out the bottle for us, I'm flattered."

Janet's low laughter sent a tingle down his spine and he instinctively pressed his head harder against her roving fingers.

"I figured the situation called for it, now let's watch the movie. There's a great scene of Obi-Wan in a bar coming up."

"Oh yummm, I love that scene!"

Jack had to fight back his annoyance at Sam's slightly drunken comment, although he was feeling a rather nice buzz himself. A look at his best friend showed Daniel was in the same state, and if he could see through the fog in his mind, it looked like the good Doctor's right hand was no longer resting on the arm of the chair that Daniel reclined against.

He hid a smile, glad to note Daniel seemed to be enjoying his position, if the content expression on his face was anything to go by. His thoughts were quickly diverted back to the woman pressed against his side as Sam leaned even further against him and he instinctively put an arm around her shoulder's to draw her closer. He had to stop a groan as she snuggled into him, obviously not even thinking of offering a protest.

Teal'c, for his part, was immersed in the movie and completely oblivious to everything going on around him.

Daniel, for once, was glad of his friend's absorption in the film. It made it a whole lot easier to do this not being under the watchful eye of the Jaffa.

"Look, there's another line! Drink up!"

Janet crowed the words this time, amused to look over and note Sam was almost reclining against Jack now, and the man didn't seem to mind at all. Reaching for her glass, she was surprised to feel Daniel's hand brush hers as he handed it to her.

Daniel swallowed hard at the contact, his eyes locking on hers as their fingers lingered.

"Thanks," Janet barely whispered, taking the glass and downing the whiskey with one gulp, glad of the distraction the fiery liquid sent through her body.

Daniel, for his part, managed not to wince this time as the whiskey slid down his throat. Surprisingly, it was better the second time around and he found himself wondering what exactly went into this `special' brand of whiskey Janet's friends sent her.

The second shot seemed to send his senses soaring even higher as well as lowering his inhibitions. Leaning back against Janet's legs, he allowed one hand to clasp her ankle, running his fingertips lightly over the bare flesh found there, feeling her shiver against him.

Janet tried not to whimper at the feeling of his warm hand caressing the sensitive skin of her ankle. Settling back into her chair, she allowed him free reign, biting her lip to stifle the moan as his hand slid under her pant leg and began to move along the back of her calves.

Daniel was lost in the feel of her skin against his, uncaring now if Jack or Sam or Teal'c noted what he was doing. Although, he suspected Jack and Sam were in their own little world and if his glance at them told him anything, it was that Jack's hands were just as busy as his.

"Okay campers that was definitely another reference to the Jedi love life or lack there of, pour the shots Doc, let's drink up!"

Daniel was flying high enough now that the thought of another shot invigorated him. Not to mention, with every shot, it seemed he built up more courage to do something to show Janet how he felt. She seemed to feel the same her hand moving from his neck to his shoulders and back.

The liquid once again flowed down his throat, this time with an even sweeter feel. He frowned, something in the back of his head wondering at why whiskey should taste this, well, good. He really should check out these friends of Janet's. But that could come later. Much later, if he had his way.

Janet too wondered about the taste of the whiskey, noting that it seemed different each time. She made a mental note to email Nat about what exactly went into the drink, but that could come later. Right now, she wanted to see what new frontiers Daniel would explore with a third shot of whiskey. She herself was ready to deck out in full "Lewis and Clark" regalia and go exploring for all kinds of new, unchartered territory. Preferably on one handsome archaeologist's body.

She was suddenly brought back to herself as she felt Daniel tugging on her leg. Looking down, she found him staring up at her with an expression that took her breath away. Without saying a word, she allowed him to part her legs, settling himself between them with his back pressing against the chair. The move put his shoulders in direct line with her hands and she took the unspoken invitation without question.

Daniel sighed as he felt her legs tighten on either side of him as her capable hands began a gentle massage of his neck and shoulders. This new position also afforded him perfect access to her legs and his hands immediately went to her knees, outwardly looking as if he were bracing himself against her strokes, but using his thumbs to stroke the back of her legs in the process. The way she shuddered and the feel of her fingers tightening on his shoulders told him he was doing something right.

Janet had completely lost interest in the movie, instead, concentrating on the feel of Daniel's body against hers and the way his soft strokes at her knees were turning her body into jelly. Her hands instinctively tightened and released in time with his strokes and she could literally feel the desire coming off of him in waves.

Suddenly, realizing who else was in the room, she shot a quick look at Teal'c, who was completely oblivious to everything but the TV screen. A look at the loveseat showed Jack and Sam immersed in their own voyages of discovery, neither, she suspected, registering much of what was happening on screen in front of them either.

She gasped lightly under her breath as she suddenly felt Daniel press his head back against her thigh, the move almost, but not quite, directly against her center. Trembling, she allowed his head to stay, tightening her grip and allowing her hands to pull him just a bit closer.

Daniel was flying now, filled with a desire that startled and delighted him. He wanted Janet with a passion he'd never realized he had, and it was obvious she felt the same. She wouldn't be letting him do this if she didn't want him as well. The knowledge was like a huge, flashing, green `GO' sign and his only thought now was how to `go for it' with the rest of SG-1 in the room.

"Damn, we missed the other two lines he said!"

Janet jumped at Sam's slightly slurred voice, quickly dropping her hands from Daniel and settling them on a more respectable position on the arms of her chair. A thrill went through her body as she noted Daniel did not seem inclined to move from his position. She was surprised to note the credits were now running on the screen in front of her.

"Well, then, we should do one final shot, for the ending and call it at that."

Nodding at Jack's words, Janet reached again to pour the whiskey, unconsciously tightening her legs around Daniel as she leaned forward. Her hand did shake this time as she poured, and she almost dropped the bottle as she felt Daniel's warm hand cover hers.

"Steady there, don't want you to waste a drop."

Daniel wasn't sure what possessed him to grab her hand, but now that he had, he really didn't want to let go. When she'd finally poured the last of the bottle into the glasses, he allowed her to sink back into the chair, letting his body flow with her, to rest comfortably again between her legs, back pressed against the edge of the chair.

"Cheers!"

Janet gulped down the shot, feeling the now familiar fiery trail of the alcohol making its way down her throat. This time, it tasted almost sweet- although she wasn't complaining.

"That was a most intriguing movie. I would enjoy seeing it again."

Daniel jumped at Teal'c's voice, only now just remembering the Jaffa was still in the room.

"Well, not tonight. I for one need to find my way to bed, preferably with aspirin I know I'll need for my hangover tomorrow."

Sam's voice was lower than normal and slightly slurred, but it had Jack's arm tightening around her. He was loath to let her go, especially after getting rather `friendly' with her body during the movie. The whiskey was also coursing through him, making him feel more daring than he normally would when drunk.

Leaning over him, on a pretense of grabbing her glass, Sam managed a whisper against his ear, "Did I neglect to mention whose bed I wanted to find my way into?"

Jack almost jumped off the sofa, the motion nearly sending him crashing back to it as standing upright brought a rush of blood to his head, thanks to his inebriated state. The feel of Sam's arm around his waist steadied and aroused him more than he'd thought possible.

"Okay, Teal'c, I think you'd better call that cab!"

Daniel and Janet couldn't hide their smiles at the looks their two friends were exchanging as Teal'c went off to make the phone call.

Janet smiled, truly glad for her friends, knowing that neither would be sleeping alone tonight. She wondered for a moment, if she too would be sharing her bed tonight. A look at an obviously unmoving Daniel sent a peal of hope through her heart.

Daniel, for his part, was loath to leave the warmth of Janet's body, glad to see that it appeared she was just as loath to let him go. He couldn't help but feel proud of Jack for finally throwing caution to the wind and acting on his feelings for Sam. Not that the whiskey hadn't helped, but still, it was about time. His two teammates deserved as much, if not more happiness than most.

Now, if he were only as lucky, he might be feeling pretty happy himself tonight as well. The trick would be to see if Janet wanted him to stay, without incurring the questions of his other teammates if he did.

Janet too was thinking about the situation, wondering how to make Daniel an offer to stay. She was pretty sure he wanted to, but that little nagging insecurity that she could just be dreaming all this was still lingering in her mind. Not to mention she didn't feel like dealing with the teasing she knew Sam and Jack would find if Daniel stayed.

"The cab will be here within five minutes."

Teal'c's voice brought her back to the present and she reluctantly moved to stand. Daniel felt bereft at the loss of her body heat and instinctively moved a little closer to where she wobbled on her feet, attempting to gather the glasses and plates on the coffee table.

"Easy there, why don't I help you with those." Struggling to stand, Daniel wavered as dizziness overcame him. He was glad of Janet's sudden presence at his side, supporting him with her body even as he suspected he was supporting her. Sending a resigned look towards Jack, he braced himself for a pithy comment.

Only to find Sam and Jack were completely oblivious, leaning against each other as well, obviously communicating without words as they stared into each other's eyes.

"DanielJackson, will you be riding with us, or staying here?"

Daniel blinked at Teal'c's words, trying to figure out an answer. Janet however, seemed to have the situation covered.

"Actually, I think it would be best if you stayed, Daniel. You're still not quite recovered from that virus you contracted two days ago on PX4-321 and I didn't stop to think what the added alcohol might do to you."

Janet hoped her slightly slurred words made sense, considering she'd spoken off the top of her head. The small smile of relief Daniel sent her way made her certain she'd done the right thing. She thanked whomever might be watching as she noticed Sam and Jack were paying no attention to anyone but each other.

"I have to agree, if you don't mind putting me up, Janet." Daniel could see the smile she tried to hide as she attempted her cool, doctor faade. He couldn't wait until everyone had left and he got a chance to break through it.

"As you wish."

Teal'c's words were stoic and he showed no expression, although if Daniel had been paying a little closer attention, he might have noticed the Jaffa's lips turned up in a slight semblance of a smile.

Ten minutes later he and Janet were waving goodbye to the other three members of SG-1, amused to realize that Sam and Jack had barely offered a comment on the fact that Daniel was not leaving with them. Then again, that could most possibly be because they were both drunk and completely immersed in each other.

When the cab had pulled away, Janet suddenly found herself unsure. The alcohol was still coursing through her system, but a sense of insecurity had suddenly struck. Not knowing what to do, she moved back into the living room, deciding she could at least try to clean the place up a bit. She reached over to grab a glass sitting on an end table, straightening up as she turned, only to find herself impacting with Daniel's lips as he was now standing directly in front of her.

It was a light kiss, a simple brush of lips, but it was enough to send a tremor through her body. Pulling back, she suddenly found herself feeling slightly apprehensive, wondering what he was thinking. Those beautiful eyes were staring so deeply into hers that she could barely breath, much less for the words that when they emerged, were unsteady.

"I don't usually do this-"

Daniel cut her off as he leaned in and breathed a reply against her lips. "Whiskey can cloud your judgment."

Unable to resist, she gave up the fight, leaned in and kissed him hard, like she'd wanted to for what seemed like forever. She moaned against his mouth as his tongue ran over her lips, begging for entrance, which she immediately granted.

Daniel felt her surrender and wrapped his arms tightly around her waist, pulling her as close as he could while his mouth devoured hers. When the need for air finally forced him to draw back, he found himself anxiously looking down into her beautiful, passion glazed eyes.

"You do want this, Janet? Because if we go any further, I won't be able to stop."

Janet felt something loosen inside her and she smiled. "I don't want you to stop, Daniel. I've wanted this for longer than I care to admit."

Daniel's heart leapt at the admission, and he immediately pulled her closer, leaning down to nuzzle against the shell of her ear, delighting in the way she shuddered against him.

"So you've dreamt about me, Doctor Fraiser, have you?"

Janet sighed, tilting her head to allow his lips access to the sensitive skin under her earlobe. "Every night, Doctor Jackson, and sometimes during the day as well."

Daniel groaned against her skin, nipping lightly at her neck before soothing the sting with his tongue. "Do tell."

Janet couldn't string together a coherent sentence to save her life at the moment. All she could do was feel and she was determined that he would be reduced to that as well.

"Why don't I show you instead?"

Daniel could have sworn he whimpered at the look in her eyes as she pulled back, reaching for his hand and leading him towards her bedroom. He had a feeling the buzz from the whiskey would be nothing in comparison to the ecstasy he was going to experience with Janet tonight.

Daniel smiled as he came back to the present, feeling the warm body against his side stirring as she came awake. Leaning down, he stroked his hands through her hair, feeling his heart strings tugged as her beautiful eyes opened and came to rest on his.

Janet, sleepily tried to focus on the fact that there was bright sunlight streaming over her bed-and that she was pillowed on a very warm, very solid, chest. But all she could suddenly see were a pair of amused looking blue eyes. In a flash, the events of the night before washed over her. A lazy smile crossed her features as she noted the tenderness in Daniel's expression. Thank God there was no regret readable anywhere.

"Good morning, sleep well?"

Daniel chuckled as he watched her try to gauge his reaction, not that he wasn't doing the same thing.

"Better than I have in years, what little sleep I did get." She felt her heart lighten at his laughter and the fact that he leaned over to place a light kiss against her lips. Sighing, she sank into his body, allowing the kiss to deepen. When she finally pulled back for air, she found him watching her in amusement.

"No hangover?"

Taking a quick stock of herself, she was surprised to find not even a headache lingered. She frowned, knowing that with the amount of alcohol they'd both consumed the night before, they both should have major, earth defying hangovers.

"No, you?"

Daniel smiled as he realized that he felt fine. Better than fine, if pressed to admit it. "No pain at all, surprising isn't it?"

Janet sighed, settling against his body again as sleepiness returned. "I'm not going to complain. You seem to be the perfect cure for a hangover."

He laughed quietly at her mumbled words, brushing a kiss across her forehead as he settled her more comfortably against his body and relaxed back into sleep.

"The feeling's mutual."

With that, he allowed sleep to take over, feeling as if all was right with the world. His final thought before blackness descended was that he needed to send a thank you note to Janet's friends who had gotten her the whiskey.

There was definitely something to be said for clouding one's judgment.
