Sam enters the commissary; there was hardly anyone in yet, especially as it was 0600hrs in the morning. She came in early to get rid of some of her paper work, which had been clogging up her In-tray. She was normally up to date with her paper, but as they had been stranded on some god forsaken planet again, she hadn't been able to do it. She hated not being up to dated with things, it always meant there were things to do, when all she really wanted to do was work on her inventions. There was another thing she wanted to do, but that was against regulations for both of them. She smiles to herself, as she places a mug of coffee on her tray. She often found herself thinking of him, the slightest thing would remind her of him. A slight distinct smell could set her off into a panic attack. What was he doing? Was he alright? Was he in the room with her? The one room in the mountain, that she hated the most, was his office. She could walk in there, and it would be so overwhelming, she thought she was either going to faint or go weak at the knees. She places a plate of toast on her tray; she could smell him right now, which was odd. He was probably still in bed, sleeping in his very luxury king size bed, that she had seen once, when she was over at his house. He would be dreaming sweet dreams, about nothing important, or anything that wouldn't be world changing. She closes her eyes at the image, him lying so relax in his bed, with no care in the world as he slip his arms around her, pulling her closure to him. She suddenly opens her eyes; she didn't know where that had come from. She notices someone sat at the back of the room; he was in complete darkness as he wrote something down on paper. She smiles as she recognizes him as her CO, the great Colonel Jack O'Neill was actually doing his paper work? She was becoming curious to the thought of him doing paper work; she knew he did do it, but to actually see him doing it. It was like a thing of legend round here, not many people had seen him do it, and it was a sight to savor. She smiles to herself, as she approaches his table. He slowly looks up, his brown eyes connecting with her own. He smiles at her instantly, closing the wad of paper in front of him, as she places her tray on the table.

Jack: "Carter"

Sam: "Morning, sir. You're in early, aren't you? Catching up on paper work as well?"

Jack: "No, no. I've already done mine. No, I was just...as you would say, tweaking at something"

Sam slips into the seat in front of him; she could smell his cologne anywhere. She takes a deep breathe of it, she missed it over the pass 10 hours 27mins 42secs, that she had been away from him. She could feel him watching her, as she butters her toast. He would often stare at her, especially when he thought no one was looking. She slowly looks up at him, he was smiling at something, but he looks so hansom like that. She wished he would smile like that all the time; his face was totally different when he was smiling, and it lit all his features that were on his face. The scar, that was in his left eyebrow, which he had gained, when he tried to stop those people drowning Teal'c. The small curve in his bottom lip, slightly straightens as he smiles. She couldn't help but smile herself, as she watches him putting the pieces of paper into some order.

Sam: "What were you tweaking then, sir?"

She hated that word, that one word could do so much damage to her. That one word was stopping her, reaching across that very table, grabbing him by the collar and kissing him there and then. He looks at briefly, before returning his attention back to the pieces of paper. He slowly shoves them into a file, which was lying to the side of him. He was thinking about something, he wasn't the thinking type, when it didn't come to thinking a tactical strategies or some cynical remark.

Jack: "Oh, just my little past time, that's all. What you doing in so early? You didn't fall a sleep in you're lab again? I'm warning you Carter, if you don't start..."

Sam: "To your first question, I've come in to get rid of some paper work, which seems to be clogging up the system. The answer to your second question is no. I haven't fallen asleep in my lab. Not, since someone had a night vision camera place in my lab, and now every time I start to drift off, the airman on duty comes rushing in and wakes me up"

He starts laughing, the image of her just about to lower her head, on to the keyboard and then a very panic airman bursts into the room. She grins at him, she knew he had been the one to have it set up, and he was the one, who had order anyone on duty to go and wake her, if she fell asleep in her lab again. He had a nice laugh, it wasn't a stupid laugh, but it could always make her laugh. He's getting up, why's he getting up? Did she say something wrong? Can she come? She had to think of a way, to keep him from leaving, they hadn't spent a lot of time together, not like him and Teal'c had been. Since Daniel died, the three of them, were brought closer together, but since Jonas came, he's been spending less time with her. Might have something to do with Jonas hanging round with her, but that didn't mean he had to ignore her.

Sam: "Do you want a slice of toast, sir?"

Jack: "No, thanks Carter. I've got to go and...do so more tweaking. I've got things to do, people to see and...things to do. See ya later thou"

Sam: "Hold on a minute, sir. Err..."

He's looking at me; those brown eyes are burning into her soul. Does he know what effect those eyes have on her? He smiling, what the hell was she going to say? She starts thinking of something to say, he's waiting and I have nothing to say. She could always tell him her feelings, which would probably get him to sit back down. But she couldn't tell him that, he already knows she has some kind of feelings towards him.

Sam: "It's nothing"

Jack: "You sure? I could always drop it, and stay if you want?"

Sam: "No, no. Don't be stupid, you've got more important things to do, more important people to see and...more important things to do"

He frowns at her, he knows there's something up, but she doesn't want him to stay. He slowly nods his head, and now he's walking away from me. Should she follow him? He may get in trouble, and need her assistance. He may need mouth to mouth, but if she didn't get there first, someone else would get there, and steal her moment to touch his lips.

Jack: "See ya later, Carter"

Sam: "Same to you, sir"

She didn't want him to go, but there wasn't really a reason for him to stay. She needs to get him off her mind; she slowly stands up, picking up her plate of toast and coffee, and heads to her lab. The one place she wouldn't see him, until about 0900hrs, when he came by for the teams' annual coffee break. She was always ready for him, his mug waiting on the side, black with two tea spoons of sugar. He was almost like his coffee; he was dark on the outside, but nice and sweet on the inside.

She was ready and waiting for them, the coffee was brewing and she had a fresh bottle of milk, she had pick up on her way in this morning. She was amazed that the supermarket was even open, but she noticed it was 24hrs one. But soon, he would be coming round that corner, whistling away to himself as he comes into her lab. Take his seat opposite her, pick up his coffee, take a sip and then praise her for remembering how he likes it. She could remember any details about him, she knew his favorite color was blue; his favorite pen was the gold one he kept it in his draw under lock and key. She could hear footsteps approaching, to sets of footsteps to be exact. Just on time, Teal'c and Jonas round the corner. Jonas dives for the coffee pot, quickly filling up his coffee mug, and taking a sip of it. Teal'c raises his eyebrow at him; he takes his glass out of the filing cabernet, and pours himself a glass of milk. Jonas drops onto a stool in the corner, sighing as he rests his mug on his knee. She could hear him coming; he was whistling something she didn't know. It's probably some old song from the sixties knowing him. He comes round the corner, what the hell had he been doing? He was wearing overalls, and was plastered in grease, oil and something else she couldn't quite make out. He smiles to himself, dropping onto his stool in front of her, taking his mug off her desk and taking a very long sip from it. His silver streaks in his hair were covered in something black and his face had lines going across his forehead. That was probably when he was thinking of something, and then he started massaging his forehead.

Jack: "Ah, Carter. I have to say it; you make a decent cup of coffee. This is better than Sara's; she could never remember how many sugars I had. It was probably, because I wasn't home, and that it didn't really sink in"

He takes another sip of his coffee; he was comparing her to his ex wife. He'd never done that before, he would always just say good coffee. He was looking at her; he must have noticed her staring at him again. She has to watch out for that, she was doing that a lot lately, going off into a day dream in the briefing, when she really should be briefing, them on the scientific reasons for going. Teal'c pours himself another glass of milk, as he keeps an eye on Jonas.

Jack: "Carter? Yo, day dreamer!"

Sam: "What? Huh? Oh, right. Sorry"

Jack: "Off on your own adventures again, Carter"

Sam: "Something like that, sir" She looks him up and down. "Sir, what have you been doing?"

He looks down at himself, he starts mumbling to himself, as he takes a rag out of his pocket, and tries wiping himself down. He wasn't really doing a good job; he was just rubbing it in further into his overalls. He sighs, dropping the rag onto the desk. She couldn't help but grin at his attempt; he'd tried so hard to get it off, but then is efforts had been for nothing. She opens her desk draw, taking out her own rag, which was clean since someone had replaced it the other day. She gets up; he looks at her, wondering what she was doing. She takes his head in on hand; his hair was so soft against her hand. She starts wiping his forehead clean; he relaxes as he realizes what she's doing.

Jack: "I was working on my truck; damn thing kept cutting itself out this morning. The alternators shot, well since I hit it that is, and then the oil pump decided to join in. Spurting all this oil everywhere, the whole floor under it, is now a black kind of color"

She stops wiping his head, looking at him as she tries to stifle her grin. She shakes her head, as she quickly returns to wiping his face. She was so close to him; she could feel his breathe on her face. This close proximity was killing her, all she had to do was lower her head a little and she would be able to kiss him. She had to get away from him, before she did something that would get her in trouble. She drops him the rag, returning to her seat.

Sam: "I got most of it off, just wipe round your...mouth and your nose"

Jack: "Thanks mum. I don't know, what I would do without you"

He smiles at her, as he picks the rag up, and wipes his face. She slowly smiles herself; she knew he didn't mean anything by the mum reference. He would probably do the same thing, they all would. He's holding the rag out to her; she takes it from him, brushing her fingers against his. It felt so right to touch his fingers, she didn't want to let go, but he had let go and was rubbing his hair with his hands. She sighs, dropping the rag back in the draw, and closes it.

Jack: "Aw...you could have told me, I had oil in my hair"

She looks up at him, he was frowning at his hands, and they were both covered in oil. She could hear Jonas giggling in the corner; she couldn't it help herself and bursts out laughing, turning away from him. He looks round at them all, letting a frustrated sigh as he stands up. He shakes his head, trying to wipe it off on his overalls. She slowly regains her composure, taking a sip of her coffee, as she turns back to face him.

Jack: "Now, I've got to go and take a blasted shower"

She just takes another sip, when she notices him undoing the top of his overalls. She splutters her mouthful of coffee out, what was he doing? He turns round frowning at her as he slips his arms out of the sleeves. She couldn't believe it; she was staring at his bare chest, a very nice chest that is. It wasn't that muscular, just out lines of his muscles, but it wasn't flabby either. He shakes his head, tying the sleeves round his waist. He turns to Teal'c and Jonas, motioning with his head towards her.

Jack: "I tell ya, women are weird. A woman sees bare skin, and she goes all shy on ya or they do that" Points over his shoulder. "Anyway, better get clean up before our physicals"

Sam: "What? (Coughing) What physical?"

Teal'c: "It is time for our monthly physical, Major Carter. Did you not remember?"

Sam: "No, I thought it was next week"

Jack shakes his head at her, as he walks out into the corridor, going off to the locker room. She was going to ask could she come, but then she'd already made an idiot of herself already. She'd seen his chest billions of times before, but him being dirty and in her lab had made it some what different. Teal'c raises his eyebrow as he looks at Jonas for answers. Jonas shakes his head, taking a sip of his coffee.

Sam was sat on one of the beds in the infirmary; Jack was on the one next her having some blood drawn from his arm. She couldn't help but feel sorry for the nurse, he had been moaning at her for the past 5 mins straight. The poor girl had no idea, what she let herself into when she volunteer, maybe next time she wouldn't be so eager. She nurse withdraws the needle, quickly scurrying away, before he could say anything else to her. She watches him as he rolls his sleeve down. His hair was still wet from his shower; all of it had been comb back into place. He sits up on the bed, rubbing the area on his arm where the needle had been. He keeps taking quick glances at her, smiling at the image of her face, when he was undoing his overalls. She knew he was watching her again, she could feel his eyes on her, undressing her while he looks her up and down. She could see Janet out the corner of her eye coming towards them, reading the clipboard in front of her. She stops between their beds, not looking up at either of them.

Janet: "Right, Colonel. Major. It's you turns on the treadmills"

He sighs, getting off the bed and moving over to the treadmills, as Jonas and Teal'c come off them. Teal'c nods his head to Jack, as he passes him and comes to the beds, where the nurses are waiting. Sam gets up off the bed, Janet smiles at her as she links her arm with her. Sam looks at her, a little surprise at Janet linking arms with her. This could mean only one thing, she want to talk about something and it was a girlie thing. Janet slowly guides her to the treadmill, setting the parameters as she starter to talk to her.

Janet: "Sam, I was wondering if you wanna come out tonight. It'll be just me and you, a quiet night out at some bar, to do some catching up. We haven't talked a lot lately, since you got back from that planet..."

Sam: "Janet, no"

Jack: "Go on, Carter. It'll do you some good"

Sam: "Why don't you go then?"

She steps onto the treadmill, as it starts to speed up. Jack looks at her, as he begins to jog on his own. Janet's stood in front of then, starting her stopwatch off as they get up to speed. Sam looks across at him; he wasn't even staring to show tiredness yet. She wasn't even prepared for today, she'd always like to prepared for things.

Jack: "Because I've already got plans of my own"

Sam: "Oh yeah. Like what?"

Jack: "If I told you, I would have to kill ya and I wouldn't want to do that" Sam: "Why? Because you would lose a friend?"

Jack: "Nope. I just couldn't bear having to fine a replacement, for the team. All that paper work would drive me nuts"

Janet: "Two more minutes"

He wasn't even sweating yet, he must have a very high stamina. From where she was, he had a very high on her sexiest man scale. She could see the muscles on his chest, clearly through his t-shirt. Normally he would wear a baggie t-shirt, but as it was laundry day, it must have been the only one he had left. She wouldn't mind just reaching across, ripping that t-shirt off him and...She loses her footing, sending her sprawling backwards off the treadmill onto the floor. Jack immediately jumps off his own, coming immediately to her aid. Janet turns the treadmills off, and then bends down to check on Sam.

Jack: "Carter! Are you okay?"

She slowly sits up, using her elbow as support as she adjusts her position. She winches, immediately looking at her elbow, it was graze badly, the blood running down her arm as evidence. Janet shakes her head, reaching up to the nearest table and grabbing a first aid kit. Jack holds her arm up, trying to stop the blood running off onto her clothes. His hands were warm, a little sweaty but warm nonetheless. Janet takes a wipe out, quickly but carefully wipes the gaze and blood off. Janet throws the wipe into the nearest bin, as she quickly places a plaster on the gaze.

Janet: "Sam, are you okay?"

Sam: "Yeah, I'm fine. Just went off into another day dream that's all"

Jack: "You and day dreams are trouble"

He stands up, holding his hand out to her. She looks at it, taking his hand, he pulls her up. But it was a little too quick, making her collide into his chest, as she stood up. He looks at her, staring into her eyes as he grabs her shoulders. She could feel the feelings from early coming back; being this close was bad for her. She shakes her head at them, trying to clear them from her mind again; he lets go of her as he shakes his own head. Janet giggles a little, before breaking the silence that had somehow form.

Janet: "Sam. Are you coming out or not?"

Sam: "You really want me to go out with you, have you been taking something?"

Jack turns away mumbling something to himself, but she had heard it clear as day. Jack: (Mumbling) "I do as well, but my intentions might not be as honorable as hers" Janet didn't hear him, she was to busy waiting for Sam's reply. Sam looks at him, pointing at him as she turns back to Janet. She could see the hope in her eyes; she really wanted her to come out with her. Well, she wasn't really doing anything tonight, except day dreaming about him but she could do that anywhere.

Sam: "Fine, what time do you want me to meet you?"

Janet was almost squealing, as she pulls Sam intro a hug. The others turn round at the sound; both Jonas and Teal'c were frowning at the two women. Jack sighs turning back to them, he felt sorry for the two men in front of him. They both had so much to learn about the women on earth. But that was he wasn't good on himself, even thou he been married for god knows how many years.

Jonas: "Weird, just weird"

Teal'c: "Is this another example of women being weird, O'Neill?"

Jack: "Yeah, you could say that"

Janet: "You can meet me by my car at say 2000hrs, I would have just finish my shift"

Sam: "Right. Janet's car, 2000hrs"

Janet was almost splitting her face, with the smile she had. Sam shakes her head, as she turns to the door. Jack looks at Teal'c and Jonas, he signals with his head to follow her. They stand up and follow Sam in the direction of the door. Jack smiles at Janet, before falling in behind them.

Sam looks up at the bar; they were going to go in. It was similar to O'Mailley's, but not as strict as them from the looks of it. She really didn't want to be here, she'd seen Jack pulling away in his now fix truck, thanks to her. She wanted to go with him, he was all dress up for something, but he wouldn't tell her where he was going. She was hoping he wasn't on a date, even thou she knew he felt something towards her; it wasn't like they had stop each other, from seeing other people. She felt someone link arms with her; of course it was Janet, trying to get through the door as quick as they could. Sam reaches out opening the door for Janet; Janet nods her head as a thank you and steps inside with Sam following her. The bar was very spacious, a small stage in a corner, with tables and chairs set out in front of it. The bar was pack, people were taking seats near the stage, at they were stood at the bar, getting their drinks. Janet smiles at her, over her shoulder as she pulls her towards the bar. They had to squeeze and push their way to the bar. Sam gets to the bar, clinging onto the rail attached to it. She looks round to see Janet, struggling to push through. Sam shakes her head, grabbing hold of Janet's coat and pulls her through. Janet straightens her cloths, evilly looking at the crowd as she turns to the bar. The bartender suddenly appears, resting her hands on her hips as she takes a breathier.

Sam: "What's going on? This place is packed"

Bartender: "It's always like this when their here" She points towards the stage, where there's a band setting up. "They haven't played for a few months; one of them has been aboard or something like that. Anyway, what would you ladies like to drink?"

Sam: "I'll have a beer; she'll have a glass of white wine"

The woman nods her head, going off in search of their drinks. Janet takes her coat off, hanging it over the rail as she sits on a stool. Sam looks down, noticing a stool tuck under the bar. She pulls it out, quickly sitting on it before anyone could steal it from her. She been in several situation like this, it's a dog eat dog situation. She turns to the bar, briefly looking at the band as they set. She had a perfect view of the whole stage from there. She smiles to herself, as she hears their drinks being place in front of them.

Bartender: "That'll be three dollars and sixty five cents"

Sam reaches into her pocket, pulling out a wad of money, she hands the woman the money and then quickly replaces the money in her pocket. The woman hands her, her change as the band test their instruments. Some people in the crowd, start cheering and the odd scream can be heard. Janet starts grinning, they hadn't even started and people were starting to go nuts over them.

Bartender: "Excuse me; if you like I could look after your coats? It's going to get hot in here, believe me"

They look at one another, Janet hands her coat over, as Sam takes hers off and hands it across. The woman smiles, ducking down under the bar, places their coats underneath. She stands up and is immediately called to the other end. Sam sips her beer; drinking beer reminds her of Jack as well. He spent his whole time on that god forsaken planet, complaining that they didn't have any, and that the Air Force should make it part of the rations. She smiles to herself, as she turns to see Janet drinking her own drink. Someone was tapping on one of the mic.

Bass Guitarist: "Hello everyone. Sorry, that we've been here in a while. But our lead singer and his guitar were somewhere aboard. We finally got him back. So we'll start with one of our new songs, but you'll have to patient with us. It was only written this morning by him, our lead singer, but we've only practice it twice. Jack! Get up here, so we can get on with the show"

Sam wasn't too interested in the band; she was off in one of her day dreams. Janet was watching the stage, clapping along with the crowd as someone jump onto the stage. He was talking to the drummer, with his back to them. They start playing, everyone starts cheering, and some of the women start screaming. The lead singer turns round, jumping straight into the song. She knew him, she seen him today to be exact. What the hell was Colonel Jack O'Neill doing up on that stage?

Jack: "I love you
You love me
But you never say that to me,
I want you
You want me
So how come I don't believe?
It's in the way you
Kiss my face,
And in your every move..."

Sam had suddenly taken interest in the lead singer, what the hell was he doing here? He was meant to be out, but she never expected to bump into him here. He was singing? She didn't know he could sing. The way he was singing it was like he was a pro or something. From the looks of things, he hadn't notice her staring at him, or that she here. The light was probably blinding him. She quickly glances over her shoulder, Janet was gob smack. She was sat there, mouth open ready to catch flies, while she watch him on the stage.

"Won't you tell me something
Simple like the truthEven
if it isn't `I Love you'
Won't you let me know your heart,
And lay me down
Is it so hard to tell me

`It's nothing,
`Don't be stupid',

Sam frowns at him; didn't she say that to him this morning?

How come you always
Say that to me...?
It's alright, take it easy,
But easy is so hard to be...
It's in the way you
Brush me by,
The way that you make love...

"Won't you tell me something
Simple like the truthEven
if it isn't `I Love you'
Won't you let me know your heart,
And lay me down
Is it so hard to tell me"

This was getting weird for Sam, she never imagine him to be the singing type. Especially, as two of her comments from their conversation, was in his song.

"It's not that I'm weak
Baby I can take it,
It's not that I'm blind
I can see you fake it....
If only you knew
What I'm going thruThen
you'd find the words to
Whisper
Or you'd find the strength to
Leave...

"Won't you tell me something
Simple like the truthEven
if it isn't `I Love you'
Won't you let me know your heart,
And lay me down
Is it so hard to tell me

I watch you
You're reading
But baby you're so hard to readI
love you
You love me
But you never say that to me..."

Sam was memorized by him, was he singing about them or was he singing about someone else? She could see him laughing, as one of the band members whispered into his ear. They start nodding at each other, as they turn to the others in the band. All the band members were smiling about something, probably Jack making a sarcastic remark about something. Jack turns back to the mic, smiling as he looks out on the crowd. The others start playing, as he talks into the mic.

Jack: "Hey all" Everyone shouts hello back. "Erm...some of you might have already heard this one. But I wrote this about a special person in my life, who means more to me than life itself"

He steps away the mic, joining in with the others playing his guitar. He looks round the crowd, before he steps up the mic.

"I'm tugging at my hair,
I'm pulling at my clothes,
I'm trying to keep my cool,
I know it shows

I'm staring at my feet,
My cheeks are turning red,
I'm searching the words in side my head, I'm feeling nervous,
Trying to be so perfect,
Cause I know you're worth it,
You're worth it yeah,

If I could say what I want to say,
I'd say I want to blow you.....Away...
Be with you every night,
Am I squeezing you too tight?
If I could say what I want to see,
I want you to see me go down...on one knee Marry me today
Marry me today
Guess I'm wishing,
My life away,
With these things I'll never say,

It don't do me any good,
It's just a waste of time,
What use it to you what's on my mind
If ain't coming out
Were not going anywhere
So why can't I just tell you that care
Cause I'm feeling nervous
Trying to be so perfect
Cause I know you're worth it

If I could say what I want to say,
I'd say I want to blow you.....Away...
Be with you every night,
Am I squeezing you too tight?
If I could say what I want to see,
I want you to see me go down...on one knee Marry me today
Marry me today
Guess I'm wishing,
My life away,
With these things I'll never say,

What's wrong with my tongue?
These words keep slipping away
I stutter I stumble like I've got nothing to say

If I could say what I want to say,
I'd say I want to blow you.....Away...
Be with you every night,
Am I squeezing you too tight?
If I could say what I want to see,
I want you to see me go down...on one knee Marry me today
Marry me today
Guess I'm wishing,
My life away,
With these things I'll never say"

She couldn't take anymore; she had to get out of there. If she heard anymore songs, she was going to grab and beat him. It was like he had got down, on one knee and asked her. She couldn't take it, was he being serious or was it just part of the song? And if he was, they couldn't because of the regs. What gave him the write a song like that? She calls the bartender over, Janet frowns at her; she didn't understand what she was doing.

Sam: "Could you pass me my coat please?"

Janet: "Sam?"

Sam: "I'm leaving"

Janet: "But...they've only just started..."

Sam: "I've heard enough for a life time. Are you coming, or do I need to get a cab?"

Janet: "For god sakes. Could you pass me mind as well?"

The woman stands up, handing them their coats over the bar. Sam quickly puts hers on, finishing off the rest of her drink, before she started off through the crowd. Janet just gets her coat on, when the bartender slips two CD cases in front of her. Janet looks at them, and then up at the bartender.

Bartender: "Everyone gets a free copy of their cd"

Janet looks at them, then slips them into her coat, before following Sam's example and pushes her way through the crowd. She catches up with Sam at the door, Sam stands there with her arms folded in front of her. All Sam knew was that she had to get out of there, before she did something that would get her in serious trouble. They start playing another song, as the two of them slip out the door.

Sam was sat in her lab; she was so annoyed at him, that she hadn't been able to answer Janet's questions on the way home. She just sat there, thinking over the words in his songs. This was a side of him, she never expected to find. Why couldn't he write about someone else? She looks at her computer, the report she had been trying to write for the past hour, was not near the end or near the start. The blank document was just sat there, staring at her, willing her to write something. She heard a knock on the doorframe of her lab; she glances in the direction to Janet slowly coming into the room. She had something in her hand, a cd from the looks of it. She waves it towards her; Sam takes it quickly looking at the title. `The Cynic's' was written in bold capital letters across the top. She turns it over; the whole back of it was covered in signatures.

Janet: "The bartender gave it to me before I left"

So it was his band, she thought about throwing it into the bin, but then she would only get out later. She opens her draw, pulling out her CD player. Janet took it as a hint to leave, as Sam shoves the cd into the player, stuffing the ear phones into her ears. The songs starter up, she remembers it as the opening song from last night. The intercom comes on; someone's voice came bellowing out of it, from the sounds of it, it was Lieutenant Simmons. You could trust him to pop up and ruin things.

Simmons: "Please could SG-1 report to the briefing room. Could SG-1, please report to the briefing room"

Great that's all she needed, seeing him last night was enough to last till some time in the afternoon. She didn't want to stop listening to the cd; she picks it up, slipping it into on of the pockets of her pants, as she walks out the door and down the corridor.

She enters the briefing room, still with the ear phones in her ears. Jack was already sat in his chair, doodling on a piece of paper as usual. She quickly takes her seat; opposite him and far enough that he couldn't hear the cd. If he found out, about her being there last night, she wouldn't be able to face him. If he wanted for them to know, he would have told them, or even invited them along one night. Jonas and Teal'c come in, both of them being as thick as thieves lately. Teal'c takes the seat next to Jack and Jonas takes the seat next to Sam. He could hear the cd, he leans closure to hear it better. Hammond walks in; they all instantly stand, and then sit back down as Hammond sits down. Sam looks at Jonas; he shrugs and then leans onto the table. Hammond stares at her for a while; he could hear a sound coming from her.

Hammond: "Major, what are you listening to?"

She couldn't hear a damn thing with the ear phones in her ears; she starts picking at something on the table. It'd been there for some time now, every time she leans on it, it would dig into her skin. The sound in her right ear suddenly stop, she looks instantly at Jonas who just points to Hammond. She looks at him, he wasn't happy from the look on his face. She quickly takes the other ear piece out, slipping a hand into her pocket; she puts the cd on pause.

Hammond: "Major, if you don't mind, next time don't bring the cd player"

Sam: "Yes, sir. Sorry sir"

Hammond: "Right, let's get down to business. Your next mission to P90 U78, has been postpone"

Jack: "And I was so looking forward to all the trees, all the mud that Carter could..."

Sam: "May I ask why, sir?"
Hammond: "Weather forecast isn't good for at least a couple of days"

Jack: "I wasn't finish, all the mud Carter could fall into, all the native women who would try and woo Jonas..."

Hammond: "Your all on downtime till the weather brightens. Dismiss"

They all stand up and leave the room, leaving Jack talking away to himself. Sam immediately puts her ear phones back in her ears, pressing play on the CD player. She hadn't notice Jack was following her, as she turn the corner into the elevator. The doors close just before he got there, he curses the elevator, as he bursts through the stairwell door. He quickly jumps up the stairs, taking two at the time as he reaches the level with her lab on. He looks up at the elevator display, she hadn't got here yet. He quickly runs down the corridor, getting strange looks from people as he runs into Sam's lab. He sits himself down on a stool, and waits for her to come in. Soon enough she rounds the corner, humming away to herself and not even noticing his presences. She sits down on a stool; the songs were starting to wear off on her. She looks up to see him staring at her, she jumps back, nearly falling off her stool. She grabs hold of her desk, pulling herself back on it. She immediately stops the cd, taking the ear phones out of her ears. He smiles at her, looking down on her desk, he sees the cd case. How the hell had she gotten her hands on that? He frowns at it, as he picks it up and examines it. It had his bands name on it; it had their songs on the back of it and his signature. Was she there last night?

Jack: "How'd you get your hands on this?"

Sam: "Erm..." She had to think of something. "Err...I found it"

Jack: "Where?"

Sam: "Erm...at some bar, they were giving them out"

She wasn't going to say that, she was going to say one of the nurses gave it to her. He looks at her; she knew that look, which was the one which meant he doesn't believe. He slowly places the cd back down on the desk, never taking his eyes off her for a second.

Jack: "Which bar?"

Sam: "I don't know, some bar Janet dragged me off to"

Jack: "Did you hear the band live?"

Sam: "Err...yeah. They were good, but I couldn't see anything from where I was..." Good cover. "People were bouncing around in front of me"

Jack raises his eyes brows, things were hectic in the bar last night. But from the look on her face, she knew more than she was telling; he wasn't in Black Ops for 10 years, just for his looks. Sam couldn't help but feel a little stupid.

Jack: "I think I was at that bar last night, did you see the...first act?"

Sam: "Yeah, I thought it was brilliant"

Now she was wishing she was back on the planet, things were much easier then. At least then, she didn't feel so...idolize. God knows how many other songs were written about her? She would have to listen to cd, and she how many were on there?

Jack: "Where were you sat?"

Sam: "Erm...at the bar"

Jack: "Oh, really. That funny"

Sam: "Why?"

Jack: "Well, from the bar you can see the stage, even when people are stood in front of you"

She wasn't going to get out this; it was either truth or sit here and gets interrogated. But how would he react? When he heard, that she found out he had a kid, he with drew himself away from her. She didn't like it then, and she damn well not going to like now.

Sam: "Okay, okay. I saw everything, happy?"

Jack: "Oh..." She starts to get worry. "So you saw me in that ridiculous shirt then?"

Sam: "What?"

Jack: "I knew I should have gone with the other one. Those guys said I look alright, you wait till our next rehearsal, and I'll so..."

Sam: "Hold on a minute" He looks up at her. "Your not bother that I know?"

Jack: "Why would I be bother?"

Sam: "Because some of those songs were written about me"

She couldn't believe it, he was laughing at her. Did she get it wrong, were they written about someone else? He starts clutching his chest, as he nearly falls off his stool. Now, she wasn't that funny.

Jack: "Phew...I'm not bother. I think some day; I would have given you a copy of the cd anyway or even came to your doorstep and sing them to you. I wrote them, because that's the only way, I find I can express myself about you. I'm a man of not so many words, but when I'm singing, it's like I'm someone else"

Sam: "Okay? So, what now?"

Jack: "I don't' understand"

Sam: "Well, erm...I think by listening to this, I can pretty well see that you're...you're in..."

Jack: "Its okay, Carter. Say after me, in love with me"

Sam: "I can see that you're in...love with...me"

Jack: "So?"

Sam: "Well, ah...I don't know"

He starts grinning, getting up off his stool and crosses over to the door. She couldn't help but watch him, she couldn't find any words to speak, and she was speechless. He slams his hand on the shut button, the door slides across into place. Jack looks up at the corner at the camera; he takes his shirt off, waving his finger at the camera before he threw his shirt over it. He grabs the stool underneath one of the benches, placing it inn front of her, he sits down and leans on the desk, watching her. He reaches out towards her, wiping a stray hair, off her face. She couldn't help but smile, he'd just touch her hair, and now he was slowly stoking his fingers down her face.

Jack: "Where would you like to go then, from here I mean?"

Sam: "Well, first off. If you don't move your hand, I might start to get used to it and expect you to do the all the time"

Jack: "I could do that"

Sam: "Okay? Second, there's no where we can go from here. If you haven't notice were sort of in the Air Force, and there's the regulations"

Jack: "Yeah, but they can't do anything, if they don't know about it"

Sam: "Oh, yeah. Right, ha. Like they wouldn't fine out"

Jack: "So what if they found out? I would just retire"

She stops moving, he would actually do that for her, for them. But he was nuts about his job, what else would he do with himself, if he wasn't here? It would drive him nuts, not knowing what was going on.

Sam: "You wouldn't be able to stand it, being away from the Stargate. They wouldn't let you go anyway, you're too valuable to let go"

Jack: "So are you. There wouldn't be a damn Stargate, if it wasn't for you. Who wrote the dialing program?"

Sam: "I did"

Jack: "Who save me, when we were in Antarctic?"

Sam: "Me?"

Jack: "Who stop me, making an arse of myself, on P0...9...5R2?"

Sam: "Err...Teal'c"

He looks at the floor, then back up at her and then at the desk. She couldn't help but smile, he had really thought it was her. He looks up, shaking his head for a moment. She just noticed, his grey bits in his hair, were still off colour a little. The image of him yesterday, suddenly pops into her head. Seeing him standing there, have naked and dirty. She starts grinning, he looks up at her.

Jack: "What you grinning about?"

Sam: "Huh? Nothing"

Jack: "Day dreaming. What the hell am I going to do with you?"

Sam: (Muttering) "You could always kiss me"

Jack: "Fine, I will"

She looks up at him, he quickly moves forward, clasping her lips with her own. She was a little shock at first, but then she soon relaxes, wrapping her arms round his neck. He puts a hand round her waist, pulling her a little closure to him. They slowly part, looking at each other, grinning at one other. Sam pulls him closure, attentively kissing him on the lips. He looks at her, and then quickly pulls her into a passionate kiss. He pulls her off her stool, making her quickly jump to her feet, but still they keep kissing.

Daniel "I'm sorry to drop in on you like this"

Sam jumps back, falling over her stool, and onto the floor. Jack just turns and looks at him. Daniel shrugs as he walks through the table towards them; Sam slowly climbs to her feet, while Jack crosses his arms.

Jack: "I thought you told me, you weren't allowed to visit us"

Daniel: "Yeah, but I decided to make an exception"

Sam starts waving her hand through him; he glances at her over his shoulder. She backs away from him, folding her arms in front of her. This couldn't be happening; he was supposed to be dead, not walking through her desk. Jack gets up, stepping through Daniel and grabbing hold of Sam.

Jack: "It's Daniel. He's just on some...higher...plane thingy"

Daniel: "Sam, it's really me"

Sam: "Well, if you don't mind me for a moment. I'm just going to..."

She drops onto the floor; Jack watches her sink to the floor, placing his hands on his hips. He sighs, turning round to face Daniel, who seems to be very concern about Sam. Jack follows his gaze, and then realization dawns on him.

Jack: "Oh, she's fine Daniel. Don't worry about her, she'll wake up in a minute, and then look at you, setting the whole thing off again. Believe me, its typical woman's behavior. Anyway, what're you doing here?"

Daniel: "Oh, right. Err...I came to warn you, that a security detail is on their way down here. Something about a covered up camera"

Jack looks up at the camera, he glances at Daniel and then at the camera. Daniel looks at the door, it was beginning to open. Jack looks back at Daniel, or where Daniel had been standing to see a security detail, aiming there handguns at him.

Jack: "Whoa, boys! Nothing happens, Major Carter's only fainted. She'll be watching up in about 2 mins"

Sam: "Major Carter has already woken up, and she's also got a headache"

Jack turns round, grabbing her arm, and helps her to her feet. The security detail put their handguns, back in their hostels. One of them reaches up and pulls the shirt off the camera. He hands it to Jack, and then they leave. Sam sits down on a stool, holding her head in her hand.

Daniel: "Well, now their gone. I'll..."

Jack: "Yeah, see ya later Daniel. Oh and thanks"

Daniel: "I might as well, used what I have to do something good"

Daniel disappears again, Jack smiles looking down at Sam, who was now on the floor again, out cold. Jack sighs, bends down, scooping her into her arms. This relationship was going to the weirdest, the most complicated, the most...best relationship he had ever had. He smiles to himself, as he carries her to her quarters, leaving her on the bed, as he disappear to start writing his new song.

The End

There might be a sequel, I haven't quite decided.
