Sam Carter sat in the lab studying the piece of equipment on the desk infront of her, her brow creased. There was a knock at the door and she looked up.

"Sir," she said a hint of surprise in her voice.

"Carter whatcha doing?" Colonel Jack O'Neill asked walking in, picking up a piece of equipment and turning it over.

"I'm analysing the weapon Martouf used," she replied looking up at Jack and pushing her hair back.

Jack put the equipment back on the table.

"Ahh," he took a step closer, "How are you doing with that?"

Sam looked down at the piece of equipment then back up at Jack and gave him a funny smile.

"Okay sir," she said nodding slightly.

Jack seemed to hesitate then he nodded as well.

"Okay then," he took another step forward.

Sam looked back down and started studying the weapon again, Jack coughed and Sam looked up.

"Was there something else sir?" she asked.

Jack hesitated and went as if to leave but turned back.

"Carter," he began and Sam looked straight at him.

"Sir?"

"Carter can we talk?" he asked.

Sam's brow furrowed, "Sir?"

"Talk, you know engage in conversation, exchange sentances," Jack replied.

Sam nodded, "I....know what talk means sir," she told him.

This time Jack nodded.

"But talk about what sir?" she asked.

Jack paused again, "Carter how'd you know?" he questioned.

"Sir?" Sam asked puzzeled.

"That we were lying," he elaborated.

Sam opened her mouth, shut it and ran her hand through her hair. Jack did nothing but stare. Sam sighed.

"I'm not sure sir," she said carefully.

Jack frowned, "Okay"

Sam glanced at him and sighed.

"I think it was the dream," she called as Jack began walking to the door.

He paused and turned around, "What dream?"

She winced, there was no turning back now.

"Just as Janet was sedating me I had a.....actually I guess I was just thinking," she said haltingly.

"Carter!" Jack ordered.

Sam nodded, "Yes sir, Sorry sir," she said quickly.

Jack smiled slightly.

Sam took a breath and continued.

"Anyway I saw you being taken away by the guards, and the I remembered PX9-757," she stopped and looked at Jack and she noticed he'd moved forward.

So then you figured huh?" he asked.

Sam nodded slightly embarrassed.

Jack moved closer still, "Carter did you mean what you said?" he questioned.

Sam frowned,"Sir?"

"You know about what we said not leaving the room,"

Sam nodded, "Yes sir," she replied.

Jack's face fell slightly.

"Oh," he said then moved closer, "What if I wanted it to leave the room?"

Sam brow furrowed in confusion, "Sir, I don't understand?"

"Oh but you do," he said bending down and kissing her.
