Jack opened an envelope as he drove. He pulled out a piece of paper and a cd. "Music And Your Life. Hmm, must be from Danny...yup...who else! Listen to this song and reflect on the current events in your life that the song makes you think about. Why not?" He popped the CD into the CD player. "Piece of shit!" After hitting the CD player a few times, the song finally began to play.

Everyone suspected that some day, somehow, Major Carter and I would end up together. I had even heard some people talking about placing bets on when we'd get together. Looks like Lt. Simmons won that one-he bet it would never happen. Although that might have just been because of the crush he had on her.

Jack was driving. He didn't know where he was going, he just knew he had to get away. Away from his friends, away from the SGC, away from Colorado, but most of all, he needed to get away from Sam and the feelings he had for her.

But she was the last to know. If I had said something to her, if I had just done something sooner then she would be here with me right now, instead of with him. How could she get engaged to that guy...that Kevin. I can still remember how they met.
General Hammond had called us into his office to introduce us to a temporary team member.
"Teal'c, Colonel, Major, I would like to introduce you to Dr. Kevin Williams. He'll be temporarily working with SG-1 until Dr. Jackson returns from his archeological dig in Giza."
Sam and Kevin's eyes locked.

Jack was going really fast now, and the pouring rain only made the roads worse. "Oh shit." His car skidded and drove off the road.
It crashed into a tree. Jack was trapped, unconscious, and badly hurt. Worst of all, he was alone.
