As Sam came to she felt across the bed the EMPTY bed she hasten to add .It had been all a dream she thought her insides felt so empty and hollow. Then she heard " bleeb bleeb bleeb" she went to turn off her alarm but couldn't locate the damn thing then she remembered her dreams had come true she was at Jack's place in Jack's bed NAKED in Jack's bed.!
"Oh for cryin out loud" she heard coming from downstairs she reckonised that voice no matter where she was Sam never grew tired of that voice .Sam could hear Jack banging around in the kitchen she felt her insides rumble for food . Even after all the food they had eaten last night at O'Malleys she was still hungry.
The best part of the evening was when Jack had said YES to marrying her Sam couldn't hold back the smile that had appeared on her face she was the happiest woman alive and nothing could change the way she felt.
Jack walked into the bedroom carrying a tray with breakfast on it. "Hi ya gorgeous sleep well?" " As well as you did Jack" they both new what Sam meant by that remark Neither of them had got much sleep as they were to busy enjoying dessert which had turned out to be one another !!.
"It took me ages to find any cutlery and as for the kettle I have no idea what so ever" They both let out a giggle as they remembered the night before when they were at the restaurant Daniel ,Teal'c Ferretti and Griff thought it would be a good idea to give Jack's apartment a spring clean which involved moving most of Jack's furniture into a van . "You wait till I get my hands on those guys" Jack told Sam "Talking of hands Jack do you fancy giving me a hand eating this breakfast?". " Love to Sam" Jack said while reaching for a slice of toast.
Once the two lovers had taken a shower together (Jack had made the comment of it being cheaper if two people shared , not that Sam would have turned him down anyway ) They got dressed "What's with the goofy grin Jack?" "I'm so happy Sam I could cry" With that Sam pulled Jack into a most amazing EROTIC embrace " It took a lot of courage Sam to ask me to marry you, I will never forget last night what a way to spend a birthday" he whispered into her ear.
"I took myself by surprise as well Jack" Sam replied not taking her eyes off him for one moment ."I LOVE YOU JACK and I WANT to spend the rest of my life with you and the General has given us his blessing so there is nothing to stop us now". As they kissed they lost themselves within each other not wanting it to end , not wanting to let go of one another.
With the phone ringing in the background the lovers broke away reluctantly from one another "Well at least the guys left the phone behind" Jack said Sarcastically .Sam just laughed what else could she say she still felt a bit guilty about letting Daniel go ahead with his plans , but she also knew that Jack would one day get his own back on the others who helped as well.
"HA HA HA Danny boy where the HELL is MY FURNITURE?" Jack asked angrily but trying not to laugh at the same time. "What do you mean you only have one key?" Jack continued like this with Daniel for quite a time . After Jack had put the phone down he explained to Sam how the van that had his furniture in had broken down on the way to Daniel's and how the key had snapped off whilst still in the ignition . Teal'c and the others had called out a tow truck to bring the van back to his home but it could take a few hours yet.
By the time Jack had told this to Sam she was on the floor in stitches she also had tears in her eyes she was laughing so much " Glad you find this so funny Sam but there are things I need to do today and I can't do them if I don't have any furniture to sit on !" Sam had managed to somehow control her laughing and was pulling herself back up to where Jack was standing . "I'm sorry Jack but it's so funny watching you lose it" Sam said whilst placing a kiss on his cheek . "Come here and kiss me properly" with that Jack moved Sam up against the wall arms embracing each other not wanting to let go.
After the two lovers had pulled themselves apart reluctantly once again Sam asked Jack "if you want to you can always do what you need to do at my place?" " That's a lovely idea but what I need is actually back at the base so I might quickly pop down and get it" "Oh ok if your sure" Sam replied rather puzzled at what Jack had meant .
"What have you got planned for the rest of the day HONEY?" " I like that Jack " " like what Sam" " the way you called me HONEY" " well get used to it Mrs O'Neill" Jack answered sweetly .
"Not too sure might go back and have a bath and just tidy up the bedroom as I remember it there was a lot of wrapping paper left lying on the floor!!!. " Yeah but what about all the fun we had removing it" Jack laughed He felt that pleasure return to his groin once again but knew there is no rush to keep jumping into bed with the most beautiful woman in the universe as they had their whole lives before them.
"Ah well the guys will get my furniture back as soon as they can so there is no point staying in a empty house is there Sam?" They both agreed that it was a good idea to leave and do what was needing before meeting up again with each other tonight.
"Shall I drive?" Jack asked " Yeah that would be a good idea as I didn't bring my car!" Sam replied sarcastically. "Oh ha ha Sam its bad enough with Daniel being the joker in the pack we don,t need another one" Jack threw back at her . With that remark Sam pinched Jacks bum " OUCH" "Just showing you who will be the boss in this marriage dear !" Sam barked at him .
"If this is the way you'll going to treat your hubby I can't wait!!" He replied .
It was a quick drive back to the base once Jack had dropped off Sam at her place. As the doors opened Jack stepped out of the elevator and started to walk down to his office.
"Heh Colonel what are you doing here?" Janet was surprised to see him as Sam had discussed her plans with her the night before and couldn't see any reason why he would be back on base especially this time of the morning.
"Oh I'm glad I bumped into you as I need to ask you something" Jack replied while still walking towards Janet "Er what can I help you with? She asked rather puzzled.
"Well I guess you already know what Sam had planned for my birthday" " Yeh Sam needed help with the wrapping of your present" she tried her best not too laugh but she couldn't stop the smile that formed across her face. " I take it you have un-wrapped her?" " Of course I have" he replied Jack also couldn't hold back his smile from appearing on his face.
"Anyway back to my original question" Jack had managed to keep his thoughts from wandering back to where he had found Sam god she looked beautiful and so sexy all wrapped up like that and laying on her bed so inviting so EROTIC !"Have you a spare hour this afternoon as I need a woman's opinion" " All I seem to do for you guys is go shopping!" Janet replied with slight touch of sarcasim in her voice
"Yeah I finish shift at 13.00hrs what do you need help with?" " I need to buy Sam a gift something to show her just how much I love her and to show how much she means to me" Jack answered.
"OK call into my office on the way out then we can grab a quick lunch in town before we hit the shops" "You sure now how to treat a girl don't you Colonel!" " Less of the wise cracks you , did you hear what Danny boy planned for my birthday?" " Yeah just about everyone knew apart from YOU " Janet replied through her laughs." That's typical" Jack said as he walked towards his office.
As Jack flicked the switch for his laptop to come on he thought about how he was going to tell Sam also ,how he was going to explain to Sam just how he felt about her. He always had trouble when it came to expressing himself especially when feelings are involved.
He thought he could express himself better if he wrote down how he felt about the most wonderful woman in his life . The woman he had agreed to marry. "Oh damn STUPID thing" he muttered while giving his laptop a violent jerk."I really need to do this today WORK!!" But no amount of shouting or nudging was going to make his computer work.
So he looked across his room and spotted some paper "That will do" he said to himself.
Now how do I begin he thought where do I begin he continued his mind was running away with words that he wanted to use but just couldn't get them down on the paper. "Relax Jack" It's a good job no-one could hear him talking to himself otherwise he would be carried off to the infirmary.
To my Darling Sam
Where do I begin ??????.....How do I begin to express just how much you mean to me.There is not a day that goes by where you are not in my thoughts .You know I'm not good at explaining myself let alone discussing feelings especially the feelings I have for you.
Over the years and missions we have shared together I have come to rely on you .You are strong where I m weak the love you have shown me has grown and grown .You think I'm strong ? /I,m only strong because of you . You have shown me that there is life after all that has happened to me . When I lost Charlie and then when I also lost Sarah I thought there would be no-one else to take that emptiness away . No-one to fill the hole that my heart had got used to. Then you came along and Life seemed to be worth living for again.
Life is too short for me to be afraid of letting you know just how I feel about you. Our lifestyles have shown us that we need to spend every waking hour together as you never can tell when it will all be over.
I thought I'd lost you when you had been taken host by Jolinar seeing you there in the infirmary your life escaping from your body. Janet trying to keep you with us my insides where being ripped apart knowing that you might not make it.
I knew from that moment I'd never need another you are the one I need I have so much love to give you my heart is throbbing every time I see your smile also every time I hear you laugh you make me feel complete.
When I look into your eyes I see real love I'm gonna give you all my loving .You will have no need to ever feel un-loved .You are so special Sam my future lies with you.
I couldn't love you anymore then I do your laughter and your smile feels my heart with desire. That's why you are so special to me. You are like a angel I feel like I have been blessed with the most gorgeous woman in the universe. We've got stars directing our fate nothing can stop us from fulfilling our dreams.
I remember once when I had been taken by the orb that we had brought back .I recall dying in front of you the look in your eyes when you couldn't find a pulse. I was screaming I'M HERE I'M HERE DON'T GIVE UP ON ME SAM but no one could hear my terriffing screams only ME inside my head.
I can't explain just how deeply I feel LOVE as a word does not go far enough to explain my feelings for you.
I understand that I won't always be easy to live with at times but dispite all my annoying little habits I know your love for me will never weaken .I can't wait until we are married. You are my one devotion, desire and true love as you and ONLY YOU make me feel this way.
You left me totally lost for words when you ask me to marry you. I knew I wanted to say more but just couldn't get the words out no matter how hard I tried..
I would love to have your children as I know you would make a miracle mother. If our children look anything like their parents then I know we will be the happiest parents EVER !!
As I sit here wiping away the tears that have now formed I find it so hard to show you how I feel for you I hope this letter expresses my love for you which is endless and beyond belief.
I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART,BODY AND SOUL AND ALWAYS WILL TILL DEATH DO US APART.

As Jack wiped away a tear he was shocked by how emotional he had become whilst writing this letter. He had spoken from the heart he had also spoken the truth .This had been Jack's own little operation he knew he could have never have said those words to Sam without getting them all mixed up his insides were doing somersaults twisting and turning out of control .He had one more mission to complete before going to look for the love of his life Sam.
Jack was just packing away the pens and paper he had got out when there was a knock at the door.
"Come in it's open"
"Just to let you know Colonel I'm finished for the day meet you up in the parking lot in 5" Janet had told him. "Fine I'm finished here as well Doc" Jack replied as she walked out .
As Jack was unlocking the door to his jeep he saw Janet walking across the car park " Do you wanna lift with me?" " Thanks for the offer Jack but I'll take mine as I'll need to get to school to get Cassie". "Ok I'll meet you at the little café just inside the entrance opposite the jewelers and call me Jack !" he replied with a smile.
Sam meanwhile had just finished the housework god she hated house work but it had to be done.She thought about how she would have to train Jack to do the boring housework once they were married as Jack at times can be so messy. At that thought she wondered just what Jack was doing so she decided to give him a quick call before jumping into the bath.
Jack's mobile rang as he and Janet were just finishing off the coffee's looking at the number that had appeared he saw it was Sam's number "Hi Honey what are you up to?" "Just wondered when I was going to see you again and what you were up to!" Sam asked.
"Oh I'm just getting some food as Daniel thought it was nessecary to completely strip my fridge of everything" "Well Jack if the job is worth doing you might as well give it your best shot" she couldn't help but laugh. With that laugh Jack felt a shiver travel down his back god he loved that laugh.
Janet was making silly signs with her hands from across the table "Why are you lying to her Jack?" She whispered "SSHH" was all that Jack could reply as he didn't really want Sam to know what he was up to. He didn't like lying to her but this was just a little white lie and no-one would get hurt by it he thought.
"What would you like to eat tonight Jack" " Use your imagination Sam" Jack liked the idea of teasing her.
"How about Pasta ?" "Sounds good to me Jack as you can't burn Pasta!" " Yes you can !" replied Jack whilst giggling . "That's something else I'm gonna have to teach you when we are married" "Teach me what Sam" " How to cook of course she replied sarcastically.
"See you about 5 then shall I" "Yep you can count on it" Jack answered. "LOVE YOU LOTS" he continued "Ditto" Sam replied before blowing him a kiss.
As Jack layed the mobile on the table he explained to Janet what he had planned and how he needed her help . "I'm so glad you two have finally got together ,you belong together" Janet had told Jack.
"Yeah I know it took a long time but the wait was well worth it, I was completely shocked when Sam had asked me to marry her last night I was also completely lost for words so I have written her a love letter to explain why I was so quite after her proposal" Jack said while reaching into his pocket. "WOW that's so romantic Jack I didn't know you had it in you" "I have my moments! here have a read" " Are you sure?" She asked.
As Jack passed her the letter he added "We have no secrets Janet". With that his mobile phone started to ring again.
Looking down at the phone Jack was surprised to see it was his own home number.
"YES who is it?" He asked "Hi Jack is Daniel just to let you know all is back where it all should be"
"So you thought you would use MY phone to say you had put back MY furniture did ya Danny boy!"
"Yeah why not" He asked . Jack could hear laughing in the background "What are you having a party as well?" Jack asked sarcastically. "Sort of Jack we are watching a video" "What video and what do you mean by WE? Jack was even more confused now. "Oh you mean Teal'c and the others?" Daniel had told him.
"And the video is the one we filmed last night of when you came in a found out that you had no furniture It's a CLASSIC Jack" Daniel said through his laughing.
"For cryin out loud you are DEAD space monkey" Jack shouted down the phone. "As if you don't deserve it Jack after what you did to ME!" "Ok were're evens just make sure you leave the house tidy!" Jack finished with. "Of course Jack speak to you later" Jack could also hear the others shout "BYE" in the background.
As he slipped his phone into his pocket he looked across to Janet who was wiping away her tears.
"God Jack this is so beautiful" " I hope Sam feels the same way after she has read it?" Jack had asked whilst looking at Janet. " You really do love her don't you?" Janet replied already knowing the answer to her question.
"More then life itself" Jack had told her "Shall we go shopping now?" he continued. "Yeah sure Jack where did you have in mind?" " Just over there" pointing to the jewellers.
As they made their way into the shop Jack had reconized the shop assistant from yesterday when he had bought Sam her earrings.
"Hello again Sir, how can I help you this time?" the lady behind the counter had asked.
"Looking for a ring a SPECIAL ring" Jack had told her. Janet was browsing through the displays thinking how lucky Sam was to have found herself such a special guy . In one way she was jealous but these two people belonged together and nothing and no-one was going to come between them.
Jack was ahhhing and errrring not too sure which one to pick then he saw it "THIS ONE, this is so BEAUTIFUL just like Sam's eyes.
Janet had walked over to where Jack was standing "WOW that is so GORGEOUS" . "Good choice Sir" the lady behind the counter had told him "It will also match the earrings you bought" she added.
Jack asked Janet if she minded trying it on for size "It will be my pleasure Jack"
As Janet slipped on the diamond ring she noticed how the light made the sapphires sparkle like stars in the night. Janet felt her insides do a flip she was so excited and so happy for her friends.
"Yep this is the one Jack Sam will LOVE IT !" "Thanks for coming and helping me out Janet" Jack said through his smile "ANYTIME Jack" . He paid the bill and then they both walked out of the shop.
"Sam will LOVE the letter ,she will LOVE the ring but most of all she will LOVE YOU" "I'm so lucky Janet to be given a second chance of happiness I LOVE SAM so much I could CRY!" Jack felt a lump rise to his throat he was so in love with Sam it hurt.
They said their good byes and carried on with the rest of the afternoon.
Jack had decided to grab a quick shower and to change his clothes before going over and seeing Sam
He was so nervous he was worried that the letter was too over powering he had decided to give Sam the ring and the letter all at the same time.
As Sam was laying the table ready for when Jack turned up she heard a car pull up outside her drive looking out through the window she saw it was the love of her life, the man of her dreams.
Sam ran out of her front door and threw her arms around Jack .
"Miss me did ya Honey?" " so much Jack you couldn't believe it" was all that Sam could say before they lost themselves within each others lips.
"Shall we continue this indoors" "Yeah lets go to the bedroom!" Sam replied with a wicked smile upon her face. AS Jack laid Sam down on to the bed he took out the velvet box from his pocket also grabbing the letter at the same time.
"HONEY" Jack said whilst looking deep into her eyes. "Yeah what is it BABES" . "Last night when we were out celebrating my birthday I felt like I could have said more when you asked me to marry you." "I was so speechless that the words I wanted to use to express my feelings for you never materialized so I have written them down instead . "Oh Jack that is so romantic" Jack gave Sam the letter and sat back on the bed in silence while she read it. He really had the urge to bolt for the door but had to confront his fears, so he stayed with Sam while she read it, awaiting her reaction.
By the time Sam had read to the bottom of the page she couldn't hold back the tears any longer. "I don't know what to say Jack now I'm speechless" He moved his way across to where Sam was sitting Jack lifted up her chin which was dripping with tears. "I LOVE YOU SAM there is nothing else I would rather do then become your husband" . He placed the velvet box into her hands as Sam opened it she couldn't believe what she saw before the eyes "WOW Jack its so BEAUTIFUL" " Just like you Sam" Jack held her hand whilst her placed the ring on her finger.
Jack couldn't hold back his tears either "I'm so HAPPY Sam" " DITTO" was all that Sam could say through her tears.
They laid back onto the bed and lost themselves in one another NOTHING would ever come between them
It had taken 2 weeks for Sam to sort out the selling of her apartment as she no longer needed it as she had now moved in with Jack. Everyone back at the SGC had heard about Sam's proposal to Jack and had congratulated them.
They all had asked the same question "When is the big day?". The newly engaged couple had annouched to everyone that it would be held in the following Fall.
