I sit here in shock
Not knowing what to say.
Your life hung in a balance
And I only took it away.
I did what had to be done
And followed the path
Of the hero's heart.
Now I must feel its wrath.
I can't believe I did it;
I can't believe it's true.
I see you lying there.
How could I do this to you?
I would rather die
A hundred deaths
Than live this life
Of the heroes remorse.
I know you understand
The reasons behind your fate.
But I can't help but feel
That they are too late.
I need another minute
I need a little more time.
To process what just happened
And the price of my crime.
I feel lonely without your smile.
But the memory will never fade
Of the way you laughed at my jokes
And the memories that it made.
I need you to know
That life will never be
The same that it was before
When you were here with me.
