I loved the story.  I thought you did an excellent job and the jokes were quite humorous.  Thanks for sharing it.

Bravo!  Great story!

Also, thanks for an entertaining perspective on BMT life.  I will probably be enlisting soon and I found much of the contents here to be useful, although taken with a grain of salt since this is fiction.

 Thanks!

-DM

Author's Response: Thank you. I took much of my own BMT experience and wove it into this story, so this is more true to life than you might think. The unrealistic part is the pranks. That part is my revenge on my TI. But I digress... If you do enlist, congradulations and welcome to the military family. In many ways my military brothers and sisters are closer to me than my blood kin. I love them but they just don't understand why I do what I love to do. My only advice is for you to keep life in perspective and enjoy every minute of the process. I hated BMT while I was there, but now I look back fondly on the people and the experiences I had. Thanks again. Rocza

Wow.  Um.. wow.

Can I just say... I don't care how worn out you are by writing all that - if you don't knuckle down and produce some kind of sequel we're going to have to hunt you down.

Best piece of fan fiction I've ever read. Jon's portrayal is awesome, and the telepathic connection is an ingenious way to keep the deep connection between the two while letting Jon grow in his own right.

If nothing else, a little more on Vega's at the SGC? Please? :D

Author's Response: Thanks. I have a small plot bunny that I may write. Unfortunately, louder, angrier plot bunnies have been demanding my attention recently. But this story will continue, just not really soon.

I absolutely love this series. You really are a talented writer. I especially loved the epilogue when TSgt Vega was reassigned to Cheyenne Mountain. I thought that was a nice touch. I have to admit I'm looking foreward to more of your stories; especially if they were about Jon. You've managed to make him a really interesting independent character.

Author's Response: Thanks for your kind words. After the hell I put him through, TSgt (MSgt select) Vega deserved to know the rest of the story. As for more stories, they will always include Jack (and often Jon) because that character 'speaks' to me. I guess I can relate to him the most. Sometimes, Sam comes in loud and clear as well. Enjoy.

Wow! Now this is what i call a Christmas gift! A new chapter in my favorite story! Your writing thoughout has made me feel like i was in BMT alongside Jon...and I've never been in the military!

Author's Response:

Thank you. I tried to make it as realistic as possible without dragging on the boring parts. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

outstanding.

liked all those details about the USAF. quite interesting for someone whose knowledge about the US military is purely based on TV shows.

I'm really hoping you'll find the time to write a sequel. Whatever you're going to do I'm really grateful for all the time you've invested.

Happy Christmas!

Author's Response:

Sorry to burst your bubble, Fly. But I am career USAF. I am currently a Master Sergeant working in the Medical Group. My husband is also career USAF with the Security Forces Squadron. He QC's all my fight scenes for accuracy. I have deployed to several hostile areas over my career. One of the things that I love about Stargate is the accuracy used to portray the USAF culture. Early on the USAF adopted Stargate and has continued to support the series and the movies. In fact, except for the "The Children of the Gods" (Jack's escort had both officer and enlisted rank on his uniform) I have not seen any errors in the program.

Now, that said, I really enjoyed the research this story involved. I when through BMT in 1993 and the training program has changed significantly since then. However, the main difference between the USAF and it sister services is most apparent in BMT. I tried to express that in this story, to give the reader a true feeling of the USAF culture and how it is achieved. It truely is my Air Force Family.

Please post the next part soon! I've just been re-reading the posted "weeks" and waiting! Love your writing style, love all the details, and I'm looking forward to mini-Jack's reunion with everyone at the SGC. Keep it up, but keep it up faster dammit :)

Author's Response:

Last one is finally posted. Enjoy!

Wooh hoooo

Damn I was kinda hoping to see an all out battle between Jon and Ba'al...

Now that my eyes are bleeding, I'm onto the next part of the story!

Author's Response: Sixth WOT is your wish come true. Enjoy!

loved it.  Especially the bit with the President.  My only, tand this is a very small grumble, is that there is a LOT of information to take in, for someone who follows the USAF religiously, fantastic, for someone like me who doesn't talk about wow.

Otherwise some good stuff there!

Author's Response: Information wise, you are absolutely right. But it is just the tip of the iceberg. I had to cut it down to the absolute minimum just so you would be able to follow the story and keep it interesting. But you should see the reams of information that I cut out in order to prevent information overload. I'm glad you like it.

LOL fantastic I love the practical joke

Author's Response: Thanks. I'm sure you'll love the rest of the story then. Many more jokes to come.

I am just dying to find out what happens next. Please post the next chapter soon.

Author's Response:

Hey, I can finally respond again.

I am working on the final chapter, but I ran into a plot problem and needed to take a break to clear my head from it. I am writing another story now and plan on re-attacking the final chapter when it is finished. I am hoping to have it out by Jan if all goes well with the holiday. Thanks for reading.

This stort is awsome. Just read it. Can't wait to see what's coming. When the rest is coming?? :o)

Author's Response: The last chapter will hopefully be up around the New Year. Thanks for reading.

Excellent excellent chapter, thanks so much! I just dropped in on this story to get that Napoleon quote in one the earlier chapters, so imagine my joy to find the story had been updated! Yay! Please do keep writing, to be it lightly, you're a genius :-)

Author's Response: Thank you for your kind words. I actually got that quote from a military humor website but I can't remember where. Hopefully the next chapter will be done by the new year. Thanks for reading.

I love this series and look forward to each new installment. Great characterizations, wonderful humor - love the pranks, and a nice addition to the SG-1 fanfiction works. I also liked learning a bit about the military world and what BMT is all about. Nothing like someone who lives it to write about it and educate us all. I can't wait to read the next chapter with the graduation and visitors and all. I imagine it will be something I'll have to read at home and not on my lunch break. Terrific series and highly recommended to any and all.

Author's Response: It will definately be a long read. I've been working on it and it is alreay up to 40 pages and I haven't gotten through Graduation yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish before the new year. Thanks for reading.

excellent story!

Perhaps this is a bit premature, but are you planning on writing a sequel? Jon in Atlantis or something like that... that 'd be really great :o)

Author's Response:

No sequel planned yet. This one took alot out of me. I spent hours researching and sorting through the information to make it realistic without all the excessive boring detail. Trust me, I could have given some of those briefings and actually have in one or two cases. Now a days, I am MSgt Cooper.

But because of this, I am drained. I'll post the last chapter and take a nice long break from this story line. I may come up with a sequel later, but it is too soon to tell. Thank you for your interest and for reading.

Angsty Jon is fantastic. Too bad they took away his pranks. Another excellent chapter in a great story. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Author's Response: I didn't want to kill the pranks, but I just didn't see the Secret Service standing by while he was punking the squadron. I'm glad you like the story. Hopefully, I can finish the last chapter by the start of the new year.

Have read this series twice now - and all i can do is hope and pray for more!  Love your work - and keep it coming. :)

Author's Response: I am working on it. I hope to have the last chapter up by the New Year. Thanks for reading.

Hiya

I just wanted to let you know, this is one of the best, most entertaining, intriguing and well thought out stories i've read, and i've been following it for about 3 months now. Please please please please keep on writing. I really like where this series is going!

Thanks again for all your work

jamie

Author's Response: I'm working on it. I hit a plot snag and had to break away from the story for a bit. I alreay have about 40 pages written and hope to finish the last chapter by the end of the year. Thanks for reading.

Since I can't Respond, to yor review Deidre J here is your answer. A blue rope is a TI supervisor. I described them in Zero Week Briefly. They usually wear a blue rope around their TI hat to differentiate from the 'regular' TI's.

To trainees they are 10 times worse than a regular TI because they don't have to baby sit a flight of trainees, therefore they have all the time in the world to harass trainees. Their favorite hang-out is the Snake Pit. It is a table situated in the dining facility so that the trainees must pass by it to drop off dishes, get seconds, or leave the facility. Passing the Snake Pit is likened to walking past a pit of angry vipers-you just hope you don't get bit and if you do, that you survive to tell the tale.

In reality they are supervising the TI's to ensure that none of the 'harrassment' goes beyond the authorized guidelines or gets out of control. They are also there to ensure that the TI is teaching the trainees appropiately (i.e. not too soft). When a blue rope finds an issue they address it with the TI and the commander.

But from the Trainees' perspective, they are evil.

"Keep up the good writing" was not supposed to end with a question mark, sorry.

Author's Response: Thank you, regardless.

I'm really enjoying your series and am eagerly awaiting your next posting.  I do have a question for you - what is a "blue rope"? Keep up the good writing?

Author's Response:

Yeah, I can respond again.

I have now read all of your stories and am thoroughly impressed. You are a writer that makes the readers want to read more. Heck I'm not even into Stargate Atlantis and I read the one about Woolsey. Well done! :)

Author's Response:

Thanks for the positive feedback. I have been an avid reader for decades and when my favorite authors take so long to write 'the next novel', I have often filled in the blanks. Though some stories demand to be written (Daniel's Hell), most have just flowed. At times I think they write themselves and just use me as a way to seek public attention.

Thanks again for the kind words.
