I have to say that at first glance of the description of this story I was a bit hesitant to read it (just because I'm not really all that into the idea of 'werewolves') but I really found myself enjoying it! Can't wait for your next submission! Thanks.

Author's Response: Thanks. Alpha Jack has always been obvious, but I always wanted to know what happens when you take out some of the more human emotions. One of my favorite authors is Laurell Hamilton. Her Anita Blake series is great were-wolf fodder. But what sticks with me is her portrayal of the 'beast within'. Animals work in the now. They only do limited planning for the future (i.e. bury food). But they don't hate, they don't murder, they fear only those things that will actually hurt them, they seek affection where they can, and fiercely protect those they consider family. They have no concept for duty or honor. They only do what needs to be done. The end always justifies the means. Wolves actually have a very complex social structure. The closest equivalent is the human extended family. rnrnSo, my 'what if' is: What if Alpha Jack was no longer driven by duty and honor but still felt the need to protect? How would this change the rules of intergalactic conflict? How would the other human societies see him and his group? What if the greatest change in becoming more animal than human was not a transition into savagry but into indifference? These are the questions I am trying to address with this fic. I hope you enjoy it.

Please update, for the love of all things holy, update. I so want to see whats going to happen next. How the president is going to react to Hank chewing him out, what everyone is going to do living out of Jack;s retirement ship and everything else that will develop. Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I am working on it but RL has taken a busy turn. My husband had gone TDY and work is cranking into overtime. I don't forsee it slowing down till mid-June. AND...I haven't been able to write...Anything...and it's driving me nuts. I have the next bit outlined in my head and I have started writing the next scene, but, unfortunatly, I didn't write the President's reaction. Mostly, I've skipped forward a week. But don't worry, it's coming. Not quickly, but it is coming.

I like were this is going. I thought Teal'c was going to suggest that the free Jaffa allow themselfe to be bitten by the rabbits to rid themselve of the need for symbiotes and tritonin. But I gotta ask, are sg-1 able to infect others?
anyway It's a good story, rivaling with your mini-jack stories.
