Submission Guidelines

Most all submissions to Heliopolis will be accepted. We want your stories!

However, we are a Stargate fanfiction web site, meaning that we will only accept items in that genre. It must be a work of fiction dealing with the series. Pieces submitted that deal only with personal views on the show, the characters, etc., are not considered fanfic. This includes top ten and other such lists, character sketches, episode reviews and similar items of that nature. In order for a filk to be considered a fanfic, the lyrics of the song must be changed in order to reflect the theme of the story. Also, in submitting a story, it must be a story. Simple plot ideas without a beginning, middle, and/or end will not be accepted. This does not include works in progress, which should be labeled as such in the header.

We realize that there are already several items in Heliopolis that fit the above descriptions. They will not be affected. However, this policy will be enforced starting immediately (June 21st 2000).

We would also like to ask that you proofread, spell check, and have your story beta-read before it gets sent to us. We at Heliopolis do no editing on works. All work will be posted exactly as you send it to us. So make sure your work is looking its best! 

As of October 21, 2000, we have also changed our submissions policy. We no longer will be auto-archiving from mailing lists. Instead, we ask that you submit all of your stories directly to the archive using this interface.
