Heliopolis: News

Well, I had an exciting (and devastating) hardware meltdown earlier this week, but I am rallying to still finish by my self-imposed deadline of this weekend. The adult archive should be completely live in a few hours (definitely by the end of the day) and the main archive shortly thereafter. (You can follow my progress on my livejournal here.)

I still plan on being available for chat all weekend. My Yahoo handle is always_lyssa and I may keep a kind of chat room thingy open for anyone who wants to pop by. However, I ask that anyone contacting me specify that it is about Helio, so that I don't accidently ignore you.

Annual Donation Drive Total May 1-11, 2007: $37

I have finished the main part of the database. I have about 200 stories that need to be categorized to be added. The rest need to be uploaded to the server in their new format. It's too much for my little 26K internet connection, so I'll go up to the college tomorrow and jack in there. I didn't get there today.

I'll probably start contacting those of you who volunteered to help categorize those final stories, and to work on validating the stories (getting them to show up on the archive). This weekend, I will also put up a contact form specifically for author's to have their accounts released to them and to receive passwords so that they can log-in. Please do not attempt to log-in or start a new account before then.

Also, the following weekend, (Sat 12 May and Sun 13 May 2007), I will be available all weekend via e-mail and Yahoo! Messenger Chat to help anyone who wants to learn how to navigate and use the new archive format. (FAQ's will be polished and made available after the weekend for everyone else.)
