Donations .

Thank you for your support of this archive. The annual donation drive runs from 01 May to 31 May. Heliopolis' s domain renewal is the first of June, and the server/hosting fee is toward the end of June, but we accept donations any time of year to put toward the annual fees, equipment upgrades, and toward prizes for fic or other contests.

We've accomplished a lot in the last year, though it still looks a bit of a mess at the moment. The new format will allow authors to post to all three of our archives, with one log-in, and to have complete control over their own stories for deletions or corrections. It also allows for easier uploading and reading of chaptered stories or series, with clear tables displaying all of the parts in order.

Any amount would be appreciated. If you can't afford to donate, I understand. I still appreciate all of the support that I have received from the community for the last four years. That is what keeps me working at this, and enjoying it.

I also want to take this time to say a special thank you to a very special person who has gone above and beyond the call to help me keep this archive up and running, when I thought all was lost. You don't know how much your support has meant to me. Thank you. Also, thank you to everyone who has offered support in kind words, a few hours help with the changeover, everything. You guys are why this site is worth running, even when it makes my eyes cross and my head ache. :)

Need New Hosting Info

Isn't this always the way... Helio got shut down today by our host.

I'm writing you about your database, efic_helioarchive. The database was
causing some severe load on the mysql server, it seems from some very slow queries, which Itried to fix but they are still taking way too long to finish. Disabling your [redacted] table so these queries don't run drops the load from 140 to 2 on the mysql server, so unfortunately it is your database. I'm afraid your mysql needs have outgrown shared hosting and you will need to update to a VPS or dedicated solution.


I am looking into some ways around it, but am also looking for information on virtual or dedicated hosting that isn't too expensive, as I am mostly paying for it myself with a few donations.

Heliopolis Fundraiser Raffle

I put up the raffle fundraiser for Heliopolis this evening. There is a fun selection of items. Each chance costs $1, and there is a minimum donation of $5, but I will ship the winner's items anywhere in the world at my expense. Items include Stargate: Ark of Truth, and Stargate: Continuum, if you haven't ordered your copies yet.

It's that time again.

I didn't do the typical fundraising/donation drive this year, but I could still use your help to pay the hosting fees for Helio, if you would like to contribute. I still need about $257 to pay the fees for this year. You can donate through Paypal, buy things from Amazon.com using our links (pre-order Stargate: Continuum and SGA Season 4 Now!).

Also, as something fun, I am going to put up a raffle later this week.
