Author's Response: Thanks...this was by far the most challenging story I've written, and it's great to hear I managed to hit what I was aiming for!

2 flaws, how can people walk for hours in almosd opposite directions and end up together. also, world identifiers are six not seven digits. p5387s2 dont exist! ok story but 4 these 2 errors.

Author's Response:

Author's Response: Chronicling top secret events and missions has required me to change certain names and planet ID's for security reasons...you must understand the precarious nature of writing these stories--one step over the line and I could endanger far more than your reading experience! However, in an attempt to please my readers, I've begun plans to rectify this flaw as soon as I can with more realistic-sounding, fake planet ID's.

The other is all a matter of angles, the disorienting effects of the blizzard, and the twisting topography of p538-well, whatever its revised designation ends up. Though they were initially headed in essentially opposite directions, the storm and his exhaustion eventually turned the colonel until he was slowly angling towards the others. And, once he hit the hill (which was meandering along without regard to straight lines)he turned more or less completely in Carter and Jackson's direction because he ended up following the side leading to them. This is why he arrived a couple hours after they did. And good thing he did--my sources assure me he would never have survived on his own! (It's funny, but if I'd been writing a totally fictional account of this particular mission and recognized the inability of one man to survive out there alone, this is exactly how I would have solved the problem!)

LOL and thanks for the feedback.
