Hey, would just like to say I really loved this fic. Even though I'm sad to see it end and feel the ending was abrupt, I understand your reasons. Hell, normally I would find an engagement after just 2 weeks VERY early and hasty, but I don't know... with these two it's just right, with them I have hte feeling that they would make it work longterm. I wish though that we would've seen Sam and the guys' reaction to this little news, but oh well, I still have hope you'll return to writing and will write that in the future sequel.

Lol, Jack would probably deny under the threat of death that he has bubble bath at home... hehe. Great that they both acknowledged that they're in love (forgot to add this in the review for the prev. chappy). Can't wait until they're in a fit state to do what they want. I am also glad that they didn't do it yet, cause this way they have time to work on their friendship, deepen their feelings, so that their relationship won't be based on mere sex. Woohooo! Loved it! Jack TLC-ing Milla, her father getting at least a part of what he deserved, Jack protecting Milla until she can protect herself again, all Jack's loving and tender care of Milla, Milla returning the feelings, fantastic! Now, all that's needed on the punishment front is to sink General Asshole together with ex-Fiancee Asshole. And let them be girlfriends to 300 pound big guys called Bubba. From what I heard, abusers and beaters of women, together with rapists, are on the lowest rung in the prison hierarchy and everybody gangs up on them.

A suggestion for the last 2 sentences: "You're safe." instead of "You're save."
And perhaps change the "No one else can hurt you." into something like perhaps "No one will ever hurt you again." Because the way it is now suggest that the person who hurt her will continue doing so and/or that no-one except Jack can hurt her. By changing it into "No oe will ever hurt you again." you'd make it a definite, that no-one, not Brian nor Jack will hurt her again in her life. I think this version would be more soothing and reassuring for Milla than the original one.

Loved it, every time I see this fic updated it makes my day. Freat that Jack had a chance to dish out some pain to Brian and I'm very thankful for realizing some of my wishes/hopes. Now that Milla's free, she'll have a chance to heal. With Jack by her side. What a pair they'll look: he with his arm in a swing and Milla with her leg in a cast. A matching pair.

Great part, good plot development. I've completely forgotten about Brian from the first part. So Daddy-bastard is helping the abusive fiancee? I hope in the end they both pay. Hope Jack finally realizes what Milla's flinching and the marks mean and realizes he's been fooled by Brian and that when he wakes Milla is there and explains everything. Unfortunately there are so many sickos like Brian out there and while I'm against capital punishment for them I'd make an exception.
Very realistic portrayal of Jack's reaction to what he believed was Milla leading him on. Speaking as someone who experienced it myself I must say it was completely real-life-like.

I don't know if this fic is already finished, but if I may offer some suggestions on how to deal with their relationship and the regs: have them talk to HAmmond, come clean and fess up. This way they'll both be allowed to stay on the team and be a couple. The AF's frat regs are AFI36-2909 and you can easily download them off the net in the PDF format (Adobe Acrobat Reader), they are an amazing help.
Anyway, the frat regs say that it's the decision of the couple's CO whether they are to be charged with anything. If he decides to let them be then they can be a public couple, but still have to act according to protocol while on duty. Off-duty... what they do then it's their matter. If they talk to Hammond and he agrees then Jack would no longer be Milla's CO (except for on missions when they have to behave professionally), but it would be his CO, thus Hammond. This way they'd avoid talk of favoritism etc. because Hammond would write her fitness reports and evaluations and recommend her for awards and promotions.
Unless they are bringing disgrace to the armed services, or are disrupting good order and discipline at the office, messing up mission accomplishments,... the frat regs encourage the COs toNOT do anything against the couple, they are actually encouraging them to allow the couple to be together.
Even though they're not ready for the step yet, I'm still gonna mention this: the best thing Jack and Milla can do to make it easier for themselves and for Hammond, to make it above board, is to talk to Hammond, get his permission and then get married soon. After that nobody can make trouble for them, they are a public couple etc. and are even protected by the regs and the whole military and civilian legal system. And can be on the same team. Anyway, I know they're not ready yet and I don't know if this fic is written already, but just thought to mention this option.

If you're taking suggestions, please take out rape completely and if you're looking for/need something for the plot, something with a dramatic and traumatic effect, then use either an ATTEMPTED rape or just physical abuse. Both allow you to make the fic into a hurt/comfort, for example Jack helping Milla get through it and heal and teach the bastard who did it a lesson, which has them fall in love along the way or something, but it's not an experience that will either scarr her for life or destroy her life. Cause that's what rape does - it scarrs and sometimes even destroy's the victim's life.
Attempted rape and physical abuse is still a traumatic experience, but doesn't leave long-lasting psychological, emotional and physical consequences. My best female friend was raped and in the end she took her own life because she couldn't deal with it.
So, it's not something you can shake off, most women require months of counceling to heal, some commit suicide and some never shake it off, close off from the world, close off from other men,...
Please think about it, this fic has amazing potential and it can still achieve that potential even without having the female lead raped.

I love Jack/Other fics, but I have reservations about this one. I avoid rape fics as a plague namely. There's not going to be graphic scene of it, will it? Also, will this fic end with Jack and Milla in a romantic, committed relationship?
There was just one reality mistake: women are not allowed to serve in Special Ops, so Milla couldn't have served in special ops in the Middle East. A suggestion: change it into duty in Bosnia as part of Task Force Eagle.
